Fresh Meat

It was the beginning of first period when all eyes landed on the first two victims.
They were two girls, one blonde, and the other brunette. They both had a very dominant stance to them and they looked like they didn't take any crap from anyone.
Great way to start your year here I thought.
The blonde girls hair was in a neat updo and she wore a regular outfit that consisted of an old nirvana tee-shirt and ripped jeans.
The brunette had her hair down and looked like she actually wanted to be there. She wore a white skirt with a pretty, wrinkle-free aztec oversized sweater.
Both girls were very beautiful with their hazel eyes. They seemed somewhat nice- well more so the brunette rather than the blonde, but still cool.
"Okay class, these are our new students", Mr. Count spoke, "Please introduce yourselves"
Mr. Count took his seat and the brunette was the first to speak in all her pep.
"My name is Kylan and this is my sister Raven", I looked around to see that people were still grimacing and yet they stood still unfazed.
Kylan continued, "Our family has just moved here from the northern part of Virginia and yeah, that's pretty much it"
She cheesed towards the class and I felt as though I was the only one to smile back.
Mr. Count spoke, "North Virginia huh?", Kylan nodded, "I heard its pretty nice up there, Why would you want to come to a small town like this?"
Both girls froze and shrugged causing them to receive a questionable look from the rest of the class, including me.
Kylan looked to her sister and it was then the blondes turn to speak, "Well, my parents didn't really know what to do with 5 kids in the city. They said that they wanted to have a way to keep track of all their children and I guess a small, run-down town like this was the best place to do it"
Mr. Count chuckled at that, "Well, I wish you all the best in this run-down town"
He grabbed some papers off of his desk and began to organize them, "You may take those two seats in the back over there"
He said pointing over to me as he continued on with the papers. The class then proceeded to stare down the two girls making their way next to me.
Kylan ended up sitting next to me while her sister sat to the other side of her.
"Hey, what's your name?" She chirped towards me.
I put my hand out for a handshake and smiled nervously feeling my kitty-ears slip a little, "I'm Jessica, Jessica Owens- but everyone calls me Jesse. Well all my friends at least"
She smirked, "I'm Kylan, but I think you already knew that"
Her sister whispered something over to her and they both smiled at one-another which caused a suspicious tingle to run down my spine.
"Hey Jessica, Raven here" Raven waved, "Wanna sit with us at lunch? Kylan is a shy one and wanted me to ask you, but be warned, we have some obnoxious brothers that will probably make you hate us"
I smiled towards Kylan. She was shy, which to me was very adorable.
I adjusted my ears and smirked, "I would love to, but let me just check with my current lunch table"
Both girls smiled and nodded. For the rest of first period, we sat there and spoke about random girl topics which I loved every minute of.
Vince wasn't there that day which made me feel a bit weird, but as always I pushed it to the side and enjoyed myself with my new friends.
Besides, he'd probably ruin it anyway.

After informing Meredith, Gale, and Madison that I was going to sit with the two girls for the day, I went on to buying my lunch in line.
I didn't even pay for my food yet and I could already hear the rumors flying about the new kids.
You hear about what the new guy did today? Total ass
That new blonde chick has a disgusting stench, ugh!
Those fealty animals don't belong here, they need to go back to where they came from
I kept thinking about how harsh the comments were, but when I saw the three of them sitting at the table, they didn't even seem affected.
I could only wish that I had as much strength as they did on my first day.
Raven waved her hand towards me telling me to come over and so I did.
I sat in between Raven and Kylan when I heard the last comment that whisked through the air.
If we get another class in here, we're going to be infested....
That was the one piece of commentary that I did not understand.
Class?
Kylan yanked me out of my thoughts as she whispered to me, "You don't have to sit with us if you don't want to, I don't mean to put you through this"
"It's no big deal and besides the same thing happened to me on my first day" I smiled.
"And you are?" I looked up to see a boy sitting on the other side of the table across from me.
He was also blonde and looked almost exactly like Raven. They shared the same hazel eyes and freckles on either side of their noses, except Ravens freckled were less noticeable.
In fact, you could only really see them when she sat near her brother.
I loved twins.
I sat up straight admiring their beautiful features, "I'm Jessica. Raven and Kylan share first period with me"
I brought my hand out for him to shake, but all he did was look at it causing me to awkwardly bring it back.
"What the hell is on your head?" he asked pointing to my ears.
I looked down and insecurely touched them.
Raven shoved her brother and plucked his temple from across the table, "Be nice. Sorry Jessica, this is our nuisance Reese"
I giggled a little as he rubbed the side of his head and stuck his tongue out towards his sister, "I am no nuisance. If anything, I'm the fun in this family"
I stifled a giggle as Raven rolled her eyes knowing that there was no relation to the word and fun.
Kylan smiled at her siblings.
"I thought you said that there were five of you" I questioned.
Kylan nodded and swallowed some apple juice, "There are, but our little brother, Mason, is a freshman and Seth- well I don't know where Seth is"
Reese looked up, "He's probably already sucking faces with some poor insecure girl or seducing his teacher into never failing him, you know how he is"
"Or maybe he's making his way over here right now" Raven smirked causing the rest of the table to look, or in my case- gawk at the boy coming our way.
