“… the day you called me from New York… you sounded very distressed. What had happened that day?”
Diana straightened up, looking Emily deep in to her eyes and staring with complete bewilderment, wondering what had triggered her Aunt to ask that question after all those years.
When Diana had gained consciousness in the hospital, two years ago, only once had Emily asked her why her condition was so much distressed. Diana refused to answer back then and ever since that day, Emily had also never questioned Diana about anything regarding New York.
But hearing that question, suddenly started ringing bells in Diana’s mind. Her breath swell up, as she held air in between her chest, refusing to either inhale or exhale.
