“Boss! Are you hearing me?” Jared spoke over the phone as he heard nothing but silence reverberating back on the call.
“Adrian…” Diana’s loud gasp echoed in to Jared’s ear, who heard her calling him boss from behind him.
Jared felt anxious, as he got up from his seat, ready to leave the office and reach for Adrian’s pent house.
The pinning silence was scathing Jared’s heart and on other side of the phone, Diana was anxious seeing Adrian entirely frozen to his spot with the carton of milk fallen down on the ground, slipped out of his hands.
The milk spilled down on the ground, pooling all around Adrian’s feet and Diana gently pushed him aside, picking up the remaining of the milk inside the carton.
