“What the hell did you just say?”
Adrina threw daggers with his gaze at Diana, who felt fearful that she may have said something that Adrian may have found to be offensive or inappropriate.
“I am sorry… I didn’t know what to say… I just assumed…”
“Assumed? What did you assume and how did you even assume?” Adrian asked, wanting to know what gave Diana the idea to even think that something so excruciating about his mother that he loved more than his own life.
“Aunt Emily…” Diana fumbled, looking everywhere in the room, suddenly her heart flushed with fear of the past, by just looking at Adrian’s flummoxed expressions. “She told me … that you didn’t have anybody in your life… so you… you went to other people and you were alone. I just felt bad for you, that’s why I just what I just did…”
