Chapter Twenty-one: The Reopening pt. 2

1093 Words
The week went by fast and before I knew it, it was Friday morning. Jane and I had already been at the bakery since 4 am finishing the last remaining of the baking. We only had another 30 minutes to go before we would open the doors, and by now I was becoming emotional. I had became excited and all I wanted to do was go happy cry in my truck. I started taking pictures of everything while it was all perfect, but I also planned to take pictures through out the day or have Jane do it. Yesterday while I took a day off from all the hard work I had made a post on i********: and f*******: about the reopening, in hopes it would bring out more people. With about 10 minutes to spare I went to the windows to open the blinds that had been closed for over a month and a half. I couldn't wait to see the sun coming up through the big windows. When I opened them my hand immediately went to my hands as I saw a huge group of people already standing outside some with big signs saying congratulations and I just about cried. By this time Jane had came up to me and wrapped an arm around me.     "They love you babe and are so proud of you," she smiled at me and went to go great out costumers. I pulled myself together before joining her. Everyone was so excited and came out to support me. I even spotted half of the Sheriffs department standing off to the side all waving at me, and I waved back. I went around trying to talk to everyone before we officially opened. When I pushed the door open fully to let everyone in I noticed the other half of the Sheriffs department standing around all wearing the bakeries aprons. Morgan was front and center at the display case with a giant smile on his face.    "Alright everyone come on in and get your goodies!" I said my voice loud enough so everyone could hear me. Slowly one by one so no one was trampled people entered some sitting at tables and some getting in a line. The deputies started working and getting everyone's orders, while Morgan rang them up. Some one came up behind me and put their arm over my shoulders. I looked up to find Tommy looking down at me.   "You did good princess," he kissed my head ," also make sure I get my men back in one piece, you only get their help for today." He chuckled then walked off to go place his own order. I stood there watching everyone inside and seeing the line still out the door.     After a fast 4 hours, it started to slow down a little bit with costumers and that I was okay with. I took the opportunity to pull Morgan aside while Jane took over the register after she filled the display case. I led him to the back and wrapped my arms around him.   "Thank you so much Morgan," I said and looked up at him with my arms around his neck. I stood up on my tippy toes to kiss him and he tightened his arms around me kissing back.   "My pleasure baby," he smiled.    We got back to work after a few more minutes of kisses in the back. When we walked back out hand in hand I saw Morgans parents walk in so I pretty much sprinted to them with Morgan following behind.    "Barry. Melinda you made it!!" I smiled and they both put their arms out to hug me. I was between the two of them getting the best hug ever and I saw Morgans giant grin over my shoulder.   "Of course we did, Morgan even called us last night to make sure we would be able to make it." Melinda said as she kept one arm around me. " And I told him we wouldn't miss it for the world."    "Please come, there are so many baked goodies to try!" I led them to the counter where Jane was and introduced them.     Melinda and Barry stayed for a good, long hour and left to head to Morgans house after I insisted they came to my house for dinner. Morgan stayed along with some of the other deputies to help with the last bit of the costumers and to help clean up. It was one of the best days of my life. By 5:30 we were all done for the day.   Morgan and I locked up then headed to my house to get dinner ready, but when we got there Morgans parents car was already there. I looked at him confused.   "I sent them here earlier so mom could make dinner which she happily offered, she said you worked to hard today to come home to have to cook for us all." He smiled and held my hand.   "Oh Morgan thank you thank you." I leaned over the center console of my truck to kiss him. We pulled into the garage, and exited the truck. When we entered the house from the laundry room it smelled like garlic. I inhaled so deep and sighed.    "Whatever your mom is cooking smells soo good." I said and walked to the kitchen where Melinda was standing over the stove stirring something in a pot. She looked up smiling.    "Hello you two, sorry for just making myself at home Arizona,"' her smile was so genuine there was no way possible for me to be mad about anything.    "No worries. You are more then welcomed here anytime. Its nice having other people in the house." I smiled and went to give her a hug.    "I might just move in. I saw the tub in the guest bathroom and almost laid in it." Melinda laughed.     "Id like that. Wouldn't have to come home to an empty house," I joked and Barry yelled from the living room 'you can't keep her.' And then something about who would cook him dinner. We all laughed and I started getting the dinning room table set.     Dinner had been amazing just like the previous weekend. I was absolutely in love with Morgans parents. After dinner was finished with we all went out onto the back dock and talked for the rest of the evening until Barry and Melinda left to go home. Morgan and I headed up stairs after finishing our beers. Climbing into bed after changing into our pajamas.
