1159 Words
Around 1 am my phone blared out in my room, and I shot up hair stuck to my face with drool. I swiped right on my phone to answer. "Hello," my voice came out lanced with sleepiness.     "Hey Princess," Tommy's voice came through.     "Tommy? it's..." I pulled my phone away from my face to look at the time, "1 in the morning why are you calling?" I sat up fully in bed now.     "I'm going to need you to come down to the Station, there was a problem at the shop tonight," he sighed.     "Tommy, is Morgan okay? He was supposed to go to the shop and he never called me back." Now I in a full on panic as I sprinted down the stairs and out to the truck in the garage.     "He is fine Princess, I promise." He said and I breathed a sigh of relief.     "Okay, I'm on my way, I'll be there soon." I hung up and drove out, closing the garage behind me.      I made it to the Sheriff's station with in 30 minutes and parked my truck in the visitors parking lot. I grabbed my purse and walked in through the front sliding glass door. I said hi to the Deputy that was sitting and the front desk and made my way to Tommy's office. I knocked on the door then opened it. Morgan was sitting in a chair with an ice pack on his head, I rushed over and looked at him."     "Hey baby," He said with a small smile.     "What the hell happened?" I had his face in my hands as I looked him over.      "First off, Hello princess," Tommy said behind his desk.      "Hey Unc" I turned to look at him then looked back at Morgan     "Secondly, When did-" He pointed at the two of us. "this happen?"      I froze ah f***. I turned around and shrunk in on myself trying to hide my face. I was screwed.     "Third, John broke into the bakery through the back door and destroyed a lot of things, I'm writing the report now so you can give it to your insurance agent." Tommy said, and I sat down, everything I had worked for was destroyed. My mind swam and I could hear Morgan and Tommy talking but I had no idea what they were say.     "Morgan how did you get hurt?" I looked at him, it was the only thing I could say.     "When I got into the bakery since the back door was standing wide open, I was searching around and looking at the damage when John popped out of the pantry, and ran straight into me we went down and tussled a bit before I got him handcuffed." Morgan said removing the ice pack from his face, he had a black eye forming already and it was swollen. My head dropped into my hands and I started crying. He went in just to check for me and he got hurt because of me. I heard Tommy's chair move and he said something to Morgan then the door opened and closed.     "Baby," Morgan said and I looked at him my eyes full of tears and snot on my face. He got up from his seat and squatted down in front of me he placed his hands on my thighs and massaged softly. "I am fine, I did my job, I bet you're thinkin' its your fault but it ain't," he lifted my face up a bit and looked into my eyes. "If it's any ones fault, I would place blame on your a**hole ex any time, He is the one that destroyed everything you have worked your cute little a** of for. but baby never ever think it is your fault." I nodded and jumped into him to hold on and buried my face into his neck and cried.      "I want to press charges.." I said after clearing my throat and I wiped my tears.     "Tommy was one step ahead of you baby. Especially since John went against his restraining order." He said moving hair out of my face. I nodded thankful for Tommy, and even more thankful for Morgan for trying to protect my business.      "When can I go back into the bakery?" I asked.      "Well Tommy and some of the other Deputies still have to go in and collect more evidence so it'll be a few days. You didn't leave anything in there right?" Morgan had sat me back down in the chair and was holding my hand as he talked to me. I shook my head no answering his question.     "Good, In a couple of days we can go in there to look at stuff and I'll help you with getting the insurance taking care of. I'll be there to help you through everything, okay?" he looked at me and I nodded again.     "Morgan, I'm ready to go home..." I said quietly. He stood up and held his hand out for me. I reached for it and got up, standing next to him.      "Just tell me where you want to go and we will go. I'm off duty until my eye heals so where ever you go I go." he asked looking down at me.      "Can we just go to your apartment for the night? I don't want to drive all the way home." He took my hand and led me out. We stopped off at the front desk and said goodbye. I was tucked under Morgans arm as he talked to Tommy. Tommy kissed my head, and we finally left. Morgan opened my passenger side door and helped me climb in, then he went to the drivers side and started the truck. With how close Morgan lived to the station he didn't drive to work he just walked but since my truck was here we took it back to his apartment. He pulled my truck into the parking space next to his. We got out and walked to his front door then inside after he unlocked the door. I didn't wait for him as I made my way to his room and climbed into his bed. He took his time coming this way, he had his uniform undone and utility belt hanging off of his hips. He sat on the foot of the bed taking his boots off, followed by his clothes.      "I'm going to shower real fast baby go to sleep, I'll be back in a few minutes." He kissed me softly before heading to the restroom. So I made myself comfortable in his bed to fall asleep. When I was drifting off a few minutes later I felt the bed dip then Morgans body pressed up against me and I curled up. I finally fell asleep seconds later.
