Lydia awoke to sound of horns blaring in her ears. People yelled back and forth at each other equally as loudly. She was lying in a bed with fluffy white pillows and blankets. Sunlight light the white room with a yellow tint. There were machines surrounding her bed that beeped periodically. She examined herself. She was covered in bandages on almost her entire body. She leaned forward, and pain encompassed her chest. The pain was so intense it took the wind out of her lungs.
“Lay back,” a woman said entering the room, “Don’t want anything happening to his princess. Nurse!”
Another woman ran into the room and pulled a syringe out of a plastic wrap and stuck it into an IV that led into her arm. Her head swam with confusion and drugs. She was forced back down on the bed unconscious.
