Dominic – POV I stared at the empty hallway for a minute, jaw clenched, fingers twitching like I needed something to break. That conversation with Tom kept echoing in my head—his smug-ass tone, the way he said I should "reconnect" with my father. Like the man hadn’t abandoned us. Like he wasn’t a f*****g ghost my mom had to scrape out of our lives with blood, sweat, and broken pieces of herself. I could still feel the heat rising in my chest, burning slow and deep.
