CHAPTER VIII. “RETURN TO CHAMENOS KINGDOM”

The light tuned on like a sun in the whole crypt gate chamber that made our eyes hurt. So I covered my eyes with the back of my palm. When I peek between my fingers, a giant man is standing in front of us! Holding an Excalibur sword. It’s no doubt, it’s Lord commander Alvin! 

I cleared my throat to call out to him before he even suspects us as we just showed up out of nowhere, without their consent and warning. Yes! How did the old man Marv made it? How was he able to fly us back here?! Only lord commander Alvin’s power can fly us back here! 

While I was busy thinking all of these, a glimpse in my side caught my attention. The two brothers fell to the ground, I don’t know why, so I took the strength to reach them, but I felt Lord commander’s presence in my back, and when I shift to where I think he was, he wasn’t there! My sight is still bending, I haven’t recovered yet from flying all the way back here in an instant! Now I can feel that he is in my right side standing, and I can sense the the heavy burden as he glare down on me with a killing intent! I need to say something that it’s us! We are still wearing our dark leather’s suit of our kingdom though! 

A hard thing hit the back of my neck, that my lungs suddenly stop receiving air. I can’t breath, my eyesight is getting dark, are they turning the light’s off? No, I’m passing out! 

I regained my consciousness! And I pulled my self up with haste as I opened my eyes! I look at my surrounding slowly, I’m wearing a white thing, and the smell, this is what I hate! I’m at the healing charter! 

I push myself to get up! A warm and soft hand stopped my chest and pushed me back to lie flat, my blood eventually flowed faster through my veins. This soft hand is familiar! I spun my head to my right. 

The shining beautiful face, pink lips, sparkling eyelids, the perfect eyes - it’s Lislime! What is she doing here?! 

“You’re awake” She said with a curve in her lips.

“Y-yes” 

I still have my eyes wide like a moon locked on her. Lislime? Is this a dream? How long has it been? She’s gone a woman now, I could tell with the size of her breast, it wasn’t like that big before and hes taller and had gone matured. Her face, she have gotten so beautiful like someone I remember, the princes Iraya! 

I can see that her lips are moving but I don’t hear anything. I’m still staring at her like I’ve seen a ghost!

“Liekhen!” She snapped. 

I blink my eyes a few times, “Yes?”

“Yes?” She ask frowning. “You didn’t hear all the things I’ve said?”

“Yes Lislime” I said while my eyes are still stuck wide. She laughs, 

“Hey hey, my sister will melt with that glare, stop it man” A man’s voice coming from my left side -- where the door is. 

I spun. Full dark armored giant man, with huge muscles left unarmored, and steel like face. I recognized this man!

“Dennis?!” I said loudly with surprise.

“Vice Commander Dennis” He corrected. 

There was a moment of silence, maybe I’ve misheard him. My eyes frowned. Then my jaw dropped.

“What?!” I shouted! 

He laughs!

The door on his back, moved, someone’s coming inside. 

“Hey, Leikhen!” 

A long hair guy said, a majestic appearance, as he wears cloak like cape that covering his body, in that cloak, a shining crest reminded me of someone. That’s right those are pairs of swords crafted in his cloak. The voice, it has matured but still rings a bell! Could this be?

“It’s me Lester! Can’t you recognize me?” He laughed! 

And behind him was another guy, but it’s dark, a shadow?! It’s him---

“I’m here too, Leikhen! Christian of shadows, that’s what they call me now!” 

He bumped in with his shadows that shoved Lester down to the ground! These guys are crazy! They haven’t changed at all! Acting like children!

“He you stupid, get off me, I’m a vice commander of the Woolly brigade!” Lester complained while being stump down with shadows. 

“Well, I’m a vice commander too, you know of Passe brigade” Christian said with a wink. 

There I saw him closely, he has grown just like the other, he stood like a man than the other two. He had muscles this time unlike when we were kids, that he was skinny. His body is still fit but with solid muscles this time. He wears a dark leather suit with an open zipper that’s exposing his muscled chest, with his thick collar standing around his neck.

“What?” I yelled while I grasp my head not believing what they are spouting!

They all laugh. And I paused, I turned to Lislime with a gleaming eyes. She smiled at me with her beautiful eyes. 

“Don’t tell me--”

“Let me introduce myself properly then” She said as she tilt her head.

“I’m a vice Commander of Moribund brigade now” 

I lost my jaw, it’s about to detach from my face! 

After a long conversation of reunion with these old friends. I finally got out from the healing charter. And my old friends went to their respected alcove. But my emotions got mixed up upon hearing them of what position they have now.

While walking back home, I was looking up the night sky where the stars are nowhere to be seen. I squinted the kingdom, and I just realized something; I used to admire this kingdom, how this was build, how awesome is this, to build the walls that protects us, even just out of metal scraps. And magic here are disorganized that I used to regard as how our king manages all of these. 

But this kingdom is nothing compared to that kingdom that I’ve seen. It was like a dream. I wonder how those two brothers would share the information to our regimen. And the information that I’ve heard--

“Never mind all of that, what matters is that I’m back home” I said to myself. 

Seven o’clock in the morning, it’s still dark as the wall is used to shade us from the sunrise. I was in a hurry to report back to duty. On my way to our alcove with a flashing steps that I’ve never used to, maybe because I just got back, I’m still in tense. I was advised to take a rest for couple more days. But I gotta talk to people and share the tales of our journey and what we have experienced -- and share what I have heard. 

I arrived at the block, where I suddenly remembered something. Someone’s gonna attack me from my back here. I just keep on walking and walking and no one attack me. Instead, a shout of my name is what I heard.

“Liekhen!” A shout that is mourning, as if someone died. 

I spun and it was Blue, the blue diamond! He run towards me with arms wide open ready to envelop me.

I swiftly sidestepped and he missed me with his arms. And give him a side kick to his cheek, that he spun like a bottle and drop dead. 

“What do you think you’re doing?” He complained sobbing while still his eyes teary. 

He’s scratching his cheek, that turn pulp red. I must have kick him hard. 

“Drop it, I’m not dead yet you i***t” I uttered while frowning at him. 

I leaned out my hand to give him a lift. 

“I’m really glad you’re okay and back whole my boy” He said with a grin.

“I’m not that weak, you know” I said. 

I start walking, going to our alcove.

“You should take a rest my boy” He shouted while I was a distance away. 

I just ignored the i***t. But gestured my hand as I’m good.

I arrived at the gate of our alcove. How long has it been? It’s been a while, I miss my brigade! But I’m wondering, who will be our commander now since commander Fritz is gone? As I grab the door to our brigade, and push it open, the door growled. 

The legionnaires stopped moving and have their glare towards me. With eyes wide open and in shock. I just ignored them and walk through towards the office of the commander. 

As I got to the door of the commander. I have a bad feeling. I can feel a presence inside of the room. Who could it be? Who’s the next commander?

I knock on the door three times.

“Come in” 

A woman’s voice? Who is it? I got curious, and quickly open the door!

My eyes locked plumb. My jaw dripped dead. 

“Hi there, I thought you’re advised to rest” She said.

“Wha-- what are you doing here?” I ask. 

Then she stood and make a posture with a smile. “From now on, I am the commander of Lost Brigade. You should start calling me Commander Lislime”. 

I was blown away by what I heard. I couldn’t blurt.

“Well, you can call me Lislime, or Lime, if it’s just the two of us talking” she smiled and tilted her head. 

I held myself up and I kneel before her, as a sign of respect to a commander. “Commander Lislime”

I took a seat in her office, across her table and I was just sitting there for a couple of minutes. While she was busy looking into a lot of papers. I was staring at her. It’s not because she looks all the more gorgeous seating on the commander’s seat. 

I noticed another legionnaire in the room sitting on a table next to her. A strange one, though she’s a woman as she wears a black suit armor for men.

“And who are you?” I ask the her.

“I’m vice commander Fern” She said with a wide sneer.

Oh she’s a good person then. And I smiled at her. I bet this woman is from the other brigade that has been transferred here while I was away.

“Lislime....uhhm” I called for her.

“Yes, what is it Leikhen?” She ask while still busy looking on the paper on her hand.

“I was actually about to visit you after I found out if who was our next commander. But it seems there’s no need to go to your previous alcove”

“Oh why? You miss me?” 

I blushed when she said that. What is she thinking?

“No, it’s just that I need to talk to you” I said while I keep my posture. 

She then stops moving with those papers and look at me, right in the eye. And I can’t handle it, so I looked away. 

“Tell me, what is it?” she said sounding curious.

“It’s about what I experienced out there and ---”

“Yeah, I heard the report”

“Report? What report?”

“I know you’ve been through hell, that’s why you really need a catnapping. And I was advised also as your commander that if you need someone to talk to, it’s gotta be the psychiatrist” 

“What? Who said that? I haven’t said anything yet about what happened. You’re the first person I’m about to share” I said with a heavy tone.

“Leikhen, listen to your voice and tone, you’re not okay yet, you can’t even remember that you already shared to the regimen about what you’ve suffered out there” She said with a frowning eyes.

I’m getting pissed, what are they talking about? I haven’t spit any information yet. And what? A psychiatrist? I’m not out of my mind. I lost my nerve to share any information to Lislime as I look down, being down.

“You’re right, I should go home and have some rest” I said with a forced smile. 

I stood from my seat and left her office.

Lislime, who told you about what happened to me out there? Could it be the brothers? There’s a possibility. But the way she said it, it sounds a different story. What the hell is going on?! 

I went back to my chamber where I live as I found out that it still belongs to me. When I arrived I lie down to my waterbed. I keep on thinking while looking the dark metal ceiling as the dim light kindled my chamber. Are they averting me to share some information? What did they know? Maybe I should go to the others, my trusted childhood friends, Dennis, Lester, and Christian. Maybe they will listen. I have decided then.

I went to the alcove of Ruin brigade. I approached some legionnaires who were on stand by just outside of their block.

“Excuse me legionnaires, is vice commander Dennis here?” I ask them

The skinny man with a lot of knives around his waist turn to me with a huge eyes filled with red veins, what a creepy guy.

“Nope he’s out for a mission” he answered edgy.

I left their alcove and went to the Woolly brigade. As I approached their alcove, there I saw Lester talking to other legionnaires giving commands. 

He spotted me in a distance, but his facial expression wasn’t glad to see me. He meet me along the way.

“What are you doing here Leikhen?” He complained.

“I just need a second” I said, while I lift my arm.

“No, I’m commanded by the regimen not to listen to your nonsense” He said while scratching his long hair. 

“And don’t bother going to Christian’s alcove, he’s been given a command just like me” He said. 

I was upset to hear about it. 

He tap my shoulders, I look at him. And he was smiling. “You need rest my friend, I’ll visit you some time”. 

He then turn around and walk away going inside the gate. 

I feel so down, I don’t know who’s behind all of this - commanding people around me not to listen to what I have to say. Well, I guess it can’t be help. So just accepted it, and walk back to my chamber--pissed. 

Months have passed I was just stuck in my chamber still feeling down. I decided to catch some fresh air, though there is non. I just had a stroll in some few blocks from where I live, and when I got bored I decided to go back to my chamber.

I encountered someone in the street, someone I almost forgot, but I remember too well the person upon seeing her. I was surprised by the greeting of the most beautiful woman in the kingdom I’ve ever known before. Her chest always caught my innocent eyes as it is mountainous as always, who would not dare to glare? It’s Christine Black! It’s been while that I haven’t seen her. Looks like she has become a more giant woman to me, taller than me. Her beauty is still stunning. 

“What are you doing here?” I ask

“I’ve been looking for you all over the place” 

“Looking for me?” 

“Yes”

“So, you’re not commanded by the regimen to not to listen to my tales?” She rolled her eyes and grab my hand and pulled me strongly, 

When we arrived in front of the building where I live, she jump up towards 7th floor where my room is, I can’t believe it, she just dragged me up like a kid. I was looking at her hand while holding mine, it made me blush. But I was like a twig being carried by a giant woman. As we landed on the 7th floor. She let go of my hand, 

“Open the door”

“What? What are you doing?”

“Hurry, you are being followed, let’s talk inside” 

So I opened it and we went inside and she shut the door, and locked it.

My heart is beating fast, what is she up to? I’m going to get in trouble with her. 

“Wait, what do you mean I’m being followed?” 

“You are being supervised by legionnaires commanded by the regimen” That put me to thinking, “You’re so naive though you are strong” she said while eyes narrowed.

“But why are you here? Why in my chamber? Why can’t we talk somewhere else?” I argued

“In this way they won’t hear us” 

She then walk across the room - to the table and sat on the chair and fold her legs.

“Tell me what happened out there” she said 

“Well, I have a lot of tales and adventures to tell”. 

Suddenly I recall something, I glare at her and she meet my eyes. The room was filled with pressure.

“I remember now, your grandfather, you said he was saved by Paradesian. The regimen has been lying to us then, giving us wrong education and information about them. I fought with the paradesian. They are indeed a hell of a strong and powerful legionnaires that I never fought before. But they are not that evil as we were told about”

“And my grandfather was killed after that. You know what that means?” My eyes widened, I’m so naive indeed.

“Don’t tell me.....”

“Yes, they’re going to kill you if you keep on sharing that good news about them. All legionnaires have been told not to listen to you as they deemed you as out of your mind in exhaustion from battle. But that doesn’t mean it will stop you from sharing the tales and the good news”

“If that’s the case then I need to report this to my commander” I said loudly

“Who? That girlfriend of yours?”

“She’s not my--”

“Listen, you can’t trust no one now” 

That stopped my tongue. And my pupil centered my eyes with horror of feelings. 

“Those people around you that you think you can trust, you don’t know them anymore, they could be among those who’s been monitoring you” She said.

“What about you? Aren’t you like them?” I said as I look at her with a measuring glare.

“What do you think?” She rubbed her hair and spread it like a wave and a good scent flew from it. And she continued, “Look, my grandfather told me everything, didn’t I told you that? I know about the history of kings, and the good news of the promised king. In other words, we need to get outta here, and go to that Paradesian Kingdom to be set free and believe and wait in the promised king” 

I gulped after hearing what she said. 

“What? You know all of that?” 

My heart felt a relief knowing that she was not an enemy. But somehow my inside is disturb as I felt the horror coming upon us. And this could mean death for both of us as soon as they make their move to silence us.

“I know you care some people, and I can see that they still trust you, though they are under the command of surveilling you. But it’s up to you how are you gonna convince them with the truth”

“You’re right, I have to---” 

My mouth stopped talking when a great explosion and a shock-wave blasted me that like I was hit by a bomb. Not just me but both of us! I couldn’t help but just closed my eyes and brace my self from receiving a fatal injury from that blast! 

The building was splintered with the explosion, and my body slammed hard on many things as I could feel that hard stuff kept on pounding me as I’m being blown away. The wobbling and the explosions stopped. 

It comes from the wall in the right, the blowup that’s what I remember. As soon as I unfold my eyes while I lie in my back, the Building shattered and my room was exposed to the polluted sky. As I look around still struggling and confused of what happened. The place is filled with smoke and rubbles. But wait, what happened to the building? There were 14 floor above! That means all the building upward was blown to bits! No way! 

Where is Christine Black?! What happened to her?! I gotta find her, so I crawl while my body is still stunned by the explosion. I squinted the area that’s filled with rubbles and debris.

“Your looking for this woman Leikhen?” 

That voice! I recognized it! Please let me be wrong! I turn around where the voice is coming from. The smoke is still hiding him. Until it faded and I can see Christine Black unconscious being help up by an arm, and it’s indeed Dennis! He was grabbing her neck while her head is dripping blood. 

“Is this what you have traded for my sister” he said madly

I pulled my self up, it looks like I’m regaining my strength. I glare unto him

“Dennis, you have to listen to me, there’s--” 

I saw a lot of swords behind me stabbing me swiftly. And I dashed to my right and able to dodge all of them barely. The swords pinned to the floor and it vibrates and detached from being pinned and float to the air and turned pointing their sharpness towards me! This power! This is Lester’s! I look around to pick up his location.

“I’m here behind you Leikhen” 

It brought terror to my spine while my eyes stretch open. I don’t want to turn to look at him as I’m angry of what they are doing. If they are really going to kill me, then so be it!

“That attack, if I didn’t dodged, it would have impaled me and killed me right away” I said without turning to him.

“Well, if you didn’t dodge, I would’ve stopped it for a second” He replied

“Oh really? I said

Then a shadow gathered in the middle of daylight, in from of me from the floor, a black man formed emerges, three shadow man.

“You’re here too Christian eh’” I complained 

“And me too” A woman’s voice from my left sitting on the rubble, as dust still hides her. And the wind blew, and she was revealed.

“Well I’m not surprise Lislime, we always gather together, another reunion eh?” I said with a smile. 

But my eyes are welled with tears.

“I can’t believe it, you think that woman is more beautiful that me” She said

I just look to the ground while I’m on me knee, I’m focusing my grace to summon my sword without them noticing. And It’s being held back in our alcove!

“Tell, me what did they tell you that you got easily brainwashed, my childhood friends?” I said sarcastically.

“You have betrayed the kingdom Leikhen, it’s you who has been brainwashed by the brutal and merciless Paradesian Kingdom. We heard the tales from Wilson and Willie, you were tortured but spared if you will join forces with them and give intel about our kingdom so that they could come and destroy us. You are now their spy” Christian’s voice said, while I don’t know where he is somewhere.

I laughed while my tears fall down in my dusty face, and I stood up, and smiled at them stretching my arms open wide, “Did they tell you anything else?”

“You are brainwashed and under their curse, and being controlled, look at you, laughing all of a sudden while crying at the same time, you either need to wake up, or else we would have to kill you for the good sake of the kingdom” Dennis said heavily.

“Oh? Is that so?” I snorted. 

A lot of swords appeared before me from above me and my left and right, and start spinning. The sound is crying to kill me. And the sun dimmed more as more clouds gather above us. The blades turned dark and it’s ready to strike me anytime. 

“We maybe childhood friends, but isn’t it why we trained when we were kids? So that we could become stronger and be a legionnaires to protect this kingdom?” Finally Christian showed up beside Dennis.

“You all already forgot how I met you then” I said frowning mixed with a smile. 

“You’re attitude right now is under the influence of that evil Paradesian Kingdom” Lester said from my back.

“You really think they are brutal and evil eh?” I said while I scratch my dusty head.

“You blow up the building and almost killed me and Christine Black, and now you are holding her neck up like an animal. You think that’s righteous?” I said while I glare at all them. 

Dennis then throw her to the ground towards me. She hit the rubbles hard, but she didn’t react in pain, she is unconscious.

“Another righteous move there” I frowned at him. 

I look at Christine black on the ground, and I just feel so mad about what they are doing. I clutch my fist.

“We thought that talking will make you surrender, but I think that’s not the case now” Lislime said, “Let me fight him guys, I’ll show him what makes me a commander. You know what qualifications to become a commander Leikhen? First you have to have an immense amount of grace. Second, you have to complete the hardest mission in this kingdom, Thirdly, you have to at least spar with all the commanders. I know you didn’t know I accomplished that all, because you were busy out there!” 

She draw her dagger-sword and she suddenly disappeared from where she was standing. I’m aware of her ability of the sword of time. She can go to a little bit future and predict what’s going to happen and make sure that it will befall in her advantage. 

A stab from the back! I dodged it easily by just leaning on the left, I saw her eyes widen up like the sun, she’s shock that I was able to weaved it. She then spin her body and kicked me to my head, but I slightly blocked it with my left arm, I was blown by the force though, and I’m a little bit shock that she’s got a monstrous strength! 

I was blown outside the floor of the building and now I’m hanging in the air. Damn it! I can’t dodge in the air if they launch an attack! She then appeared above me, and she became a fading light and disappeared and showed in my right and then to my left! What is going on?! She is skipping time and going to a place to place just like that!? She moved along with the air and before I know it she already slashed me, I was protecting my vital part of my body as I wrap myself with my arms! I got cut in my left arm, right neck, back shoulder. She dawned close to me just above me, and deliver a wind wild kick to my stomach, and made a force to push to me to the ground to fall hard like an egg! 

My stomach was hit hard that my lungs was out of air, I lock my breathing. I have to worry another thing, I’m about to fall my back to the ground from the 7th floor altitude! My back indeed smashed to the ground, a thud and tremor was created as I fell with great force. Some of my muscles were crushed, my spinal cord is broken as I felt the pain as it crack through my back. I can feel a lot of pain anywhere, my inside stings with pain, my flesh bleed inside and my mouth couldn’t help it, I coughed with blood. My lungs are now hardly breathing, I just gotta endure and hold my breath until my lungs regain to breath. Suddenly I was able breath deeply! 

I bluff to show to them that I’m okay, so I push my self back up to sit. Even my back bone has been torn. And I glare at them. 

I saw a flash of lighting of her dagger cutting through my head, and I slope back to dodge it but it was a lil bit too late as my spinal bone wouldn’t move right away as I wanted to, my face was cut, and my left cheek was wipe open. I saw the meat of my cheek landed on the ground. Blood flowing down from my open cheek, my teeth inside my mouth is exposed. I can feel the pain, it’s stinging! 

“Forgive us Leikhen, this is for the kingdom, there are more heavy information given to us, that’s why we can’t hold back. We wanted to talk to you first to confirm it. And your actions and remarks are exactly ratifying it” Dennis said while tear coming out from his metal face!

“We were told that the Leikhen we knew already died on the battlefield, and someone is residing in your body now, a kind of a spirit and you are being used, and is here in this kingdom to destroy us” Lislime said with a sad face, that face? After chopping my face like a meat?

“We were told also that some of your consciousness are still there though, that can hear what we say but can no longer take over your body back. We thought that we can still awake you as we know that you are strong!” Lester adds with a cold look of pity.

 “Shut up! It’s you who are being taken over by lies of this kingdom!” I cried as blood spilled through my open cheek as I talk, and I struggle with pain as my right eye is shut and blood covering my face and flooding my body.

“I’m sorry Leikhen I really thought you love me, but I’m sorry, this is for the kingdom” Lislime said and she jump towards me and hold her dagger both her hands and gonna pin my skull from above to finished me off!

“No, I’m sorry that I can’t save you from lies Lislime, I love you, ‘uncloak’” I uttered.

She still paced to stab my head, but I moved my head to the right and her dagger pierced down through my shoulder. Blood burst from my flesh. While white flames covered me and a shock-wave blew from my body and she leap away from me leaving her dagger sticking from my shoulder. I can see that she lack experience, she still can’t handle surprised situation and I can see in her eyes, for a second she was horrified. 

“No! That’s the healing white flame! Attack him all at once, as he can’t use any offensive power with that mode!” Dennis cried! 

Oh he seems to know well of my abilities huh’

They all unleash their deadly attacks at once all together, and I saw it. It was beautiful, and I can feel their grace, they are indeed strong.

“We already know your powers, you could still die, if the damage you will take is greater than to that white flame can heal!” Lester cried while stretching his hand to summon his swords, but this time, it’s all his sword. 

It was a swords of an army, no, maybe the whole kingdom’s swords. It was brilliant to see him summoning all those shining swords. The sun was covered above with all the swords gathering in the sky. They were like shining birds gathering and singing to each other. 

Yes a storm of swords attack me all sides, But it was too late for them, I already held my sword, I tear them all down to shreds like they were bees, so fragile that I crushed all of them! 

“Impossible” Lester said. 

The shadows attacks me with sharp punch and sharp claws, I clashed the shadows with the swing of my sword forcefully and they vanished like a lamp blown by the wind! Christian’s face was long that I never seen him express like that. I have known him as the coolest of all I’ve ever met, but this time his coolness was crushed.

“You’re shadows are all jokes since I met you. I never admire you, you were so weak that you acted as confident and strong” I said to him though it’s bit of a lie “And you Dennis, you’re muscles are like glass, I can cut you in half now if I want to” I mocked him. 

I’m being driven by anger that’s the reason I’m able to say those harsh words to them.

Lislime then slip behind me and I let her pull her dagger from my shoulder, and she thought I didn’t notice her move, but I was laughing on the inside. 

“I could have killed you when you touch your dagger earlier” I told her

Yet she didn’t listen and attempted to stab my eye, so I catch her dagger with my right hand, and able to stop it, while my palms got wounded and bleeding from the grip of it. 

She pulled away, and I feel the pain of it. And she paused for a second while eyes wide open. 

“Monster” she said while shes terrified. 

She saw the white flame knitted the cut on my hands, and fixed my muscles, lungs, and restructured my flesh from my cheek back to normal, and the flesh that was cut from my face on the ground burned to dust by my white flame. As soon as I felt that I’m back to being in good shape, I tilted my sword and shifted my flame to red the normal scorch! 

“Die monster!” She cried as she bolted towards me stabbing her dagger from all side of my body, she moves too slow, I can see her movement like the setting sun and I can easily block it, with the body of my blade.

“You have stopped using your dagger of time, is that how a commander fight in the battle?” I uttered to her. 

Before she could react, I struck her stomach with the hilt of my sword and she was put to sleep to the ground.

Dennis come charging, with his metal huge arm trying to smash me. I parred it with me sword easily, he threw a lot of punches, while I’m blocking all of them. A rain of swords is what I saw from above. I knew it, he was a decoy, knowing that he is wrapped in metal. I struck my sword to the ground and summon flames to ward me. The swords are clanking against my flame, it’s not going through, some are sticking, but some are melting. 

Dennis stopped attacking, knowing that the flame still penetrates his metal skin.

As soon as the swords stop raining on me, I switched to blue flame, and dashed towards Dennis, and swing in front of him, but a shadow barred and receive the s***h, I push through but Dennis got away already. 

“It’s three against one huh? Oh four actually, but minus one. You know what this all implies my childhood friends? I’m stronger than all of you” I said sarcastically. 

“You are not the Leikhen we know, you are someone in that body” Christian said from afar.

“Oh really? How about I tell you a secret that we only know about” I replied keeping my sarcasm.

“You are merging with that body, so of course you’ll know all the information we had” Lester replied.

“Pathetic argument” I said, 

I focused my grace to my feet to enforced my speed, and run to Christian, “You are pathetic without these shadows” I told him, and give him a push kick in his jaw in front of him that he was blown to the air like a feather. 

I shifted towards Dennis, “Try blocking these blue flames with that scrap metal hands of yours”. 

I slashed him, I know he would use his arm to block it, when it hits his metal arm as he defend himself, it penetrated and cut his iron flesh and blood burned and spilled, he cried with pain and down he goes to the ground clenching his wound. 

I then turn to Lester, I gave him a monster’s glare, he gulped, stepped back and stretch his arms and summoned a lot of swords. And blitz all over me. 

“I’ve seen all through attacks, your swords are making me asleep” I said as I yawn at him. I easily dodged them as I move faster that he could see. 

“Monster! Impossible!” he cried shrinking.

“You know what made me strong? I fought those Paradesion legionnaires, I’ve gained experience and strength, you are far more weak than them. You should be ashamed for being a vice commander or whatsoever” I said mockingly.

I hurled towards him and punch him hard in the face that made him fall to his butt like a child. 

Suddenly, I heard a clap from the side of the rubbles.

“Bravo, so that’s the power of the brutal Paradesian” An old man’s voice. I turned, it’s Pops the father of all or commander Ken. 

I have much respect to this old man, as he has been training us legionnaires from the start in entering brigades. I don’t have reason to fight him. Besides he may be old, but he is powerful than I could imagine. 

There he was standing, his old age made his back bend forward. His grey hair and beard. He got some scars on his face too. And with an old dry skin. He is clad with dark scales armor.

“Pops” I said in a low voice.

I ease my grip of my sword and I can’t even look up to him.

“Pops? So there’s a little bit Leikhen in you left huh?” He said as he glare at me sharply with his old eyes while scratching his long winding beard that reaches his waist. 

“No no no, he’s just acting like that boy Leikhen, but I can sense he’s not the same, though his grace is indeed still there the same” This time an old woman’s voice. 

She suddenly appeared next to Commander Ken’s side. It’s Granny commander Josephine. The red feather in her chest armor reminds me how powerful she is. Why did they send these elderly? I much have respect to both of them. I can’t even point my sword to them. So I drop my sword. It clangs on the ground. And a wind blew in our midst snatching the dusts. And the elders commanders walk towards me. I eventually bend my knee, both my knee, I guess I’m exhausted as well. 

“Leikhen boy, we are ordered to eliminate you” Commander Ken said.

“This is heartbreaking Leikhen boy, we are sorry” Commander Josephine add. 

I would accept my fate, but whoever is behind this, is hitting my weakness, I cant fight these elders, they have nothing to do with this! Damn! Well I guess I have to accept my destiny.

“W-wait!” A woman’s voice struggling to talk. And barely standing as I saw her behind them, with her body not in good shape, she’s been caught with a lot of explosions. She’s dragging her left feet to come closer. “I’m Christine Black, granddaughter of Chris Black, I know you both are close friends of my grandfather, and you know that he was a loyal legionnaire of the kingdom”

“So?” Commander Josephine asks lifting her left old eyebrow

“I follow the principle of my late grandfather and I would never tell lies against the kingdom” She paused as she can barely talk, catch her breath and continues...”I was with him in his chamber when the commander Lislime and the vice commanders attack, Leikhen didn’t tell me anything or any tale about what happened to him, I just came to visit him because I missed him. The information you got is not true and accurate that he’s spreading some tales and being out of his mind”

“Is that so Little girl?” Commander Josephine replied.

“Well then, we need to take you both behind bars of the sacrificial guardroom” Pops said.

I should thank, she saved me!

We were both taken to the sacrificial guardroom. Locked. I never thought that I’ve experience getting into this cell. Our grace are getting sucked slowly, I can feel it. But I’m thankful they tended to her wounds first before sending her in. They took our cherub swords. And pops whispered me an unpleasant information before he left. He said we’ll be sentenced to death publicly. But the way he said it, I saw in his old eyes, that he was sorry, he was sad, he still believes in me.
