Getting to know You

“So what did you mean?” Gone was the timid scared girl Isobel was now on a war path. First this man had come in to the room scared her shitless, tried to claim her then argued with his wolf about her and now he was blaming said argument on her. Nope she was not going to stand for it.

“Well answer me.” she stood and said.

“Hey hey calm down now.” Lucas stated

“Calm down. Wow, is this how our marriage is going to be? ’Cos I did not sign up for this, in fact I didn’t even want to get married to you but no one cares what I want. No I’m just mean to be the good little girl who marries the big bad wolf from the other Kingdom in order to have an alliance...” Isobel started to go off on one, all the feelings she had been storing up all just came pouring out and there was nothing to be done to stop them.

Lucas stood there not sure what was going on but he knew one thing for sure; if he interrupted her he would surly get his head bitten off and at this very moment he didn’t know if it would be figuratively or literally.

After a good ten minutes of pacing around the room rambling about how she never wanted any of this Isobel finally flopped herself on the bed and let out a sigh.

“Are you done now?” Lucas cautiously asked

“Aghhh” Isobel let out a scream causing Lucas to slap his hands over his ears and the door to fly open and a warrior to barge in.

“Alpha I heard a scream is everything okay?” the warrior asked.

Lucas looked at Isobel who was now in a crouching stance ready to pounce on anything and everything that moved.

“Isobel?” Lucas cautiously walked over to her, taking each step slowly “IS everything okay?” he asked

Isobel looked up at him then settled on to the bed with her legs crossed “Yeah everything is fine.“She said it so nonchalantly as though she hadn’t just screamed loud enough to break Lucas’ eardrums.

The warrior looked between his Alpha then his new Luna unsure what to do. It was in a wolfs DNA to protect their Luna even if it was from their Alpha and right now he wasn’t so sure if he should leave the two alone.

“See everything is okay Samuel, you can leave now.” Lucas said dismissing the warrior.

Samuel looked back at Isobel “Luna are you sure you are okay?” He asked her, he knew he shouldn’t disobey his Alpha but everything in him was telling him to protect this woman.

Isobel let out a sigh before responding “I forgot I wasn’t alone for a minute and when Lucas spoke it spooked me. Okay?”

Samuel took one last look at his Alpha before nodding his head "As long as you are sure you're okay Luna then I will leave"

Isobel smiled and nodded her head, Samuel turned to walk out the door but before he could close it Isobel said "Thank you Sam, I'm glad that I already have someone looking out for me." The warrior smiled again causing Lucas to let out a low growl. He didn't like the exchange going on between his mate and his warrior.

One one hand he was happy that even though she had only just become their Luna his warriors were already trying to protect her however on the other hand he hated the fact that his warriors thought that he would ever hurt her.

When the growl left him Isobel raised her eye brow at him and smirked "Jealous much?" she asked cockily.

At first Lucas was going to lie but in that moment he realised he could never lie to her, ever.

So like a big boy he answered "Yes as a matter of fact I was jealous. I didn't like what was going on just then."

"Wow." Was all she could say.

Lucas walked over to the bed and crawled over to where she sat, his face was inches from hers as he repeated her earlier question, "Do you do that a lot"

Isobel slightly pushed him back by his shoulders and smirked "I'll only answer you if you answer me. Don't think I have forgotten about what happened earlier." she said

Lucas huffed "Fine. My wolf is pissed at me because we didn't know what you meant by your question."

Isobel looked at him with her head slightly c****d to the side. "You were swearing a lot." She said, Lucas made an 'O' with his mouth as he finally understood

"What else would it have meant?" Isobel asked now full of curiosity

Lucas sighed before answering "We thought you might have meant do we claim all the woman we sleep with as ours or if that was just you."

"Oh" was all she could say

'Whats with this we s**t. We didn't do anything, it was you who slept around not us. I wanted us to wait for our mate.' Shadow said internally

"Oh f**k off" Lucas said

"Wow if that's how you feel then fine I will." Isobel said as she stood up and started for the door.

That was when Lucas realised that he had said that out loud and not just to Shadow. "Isobel wait I didn't mean for you to f**k off, I was talking to Shadow." Lucas said stopping in front of the Isobel and the door blocking her exit.

"Shadow is that what hes called?"

Lucas nodded his head and a small smile crept on to Isobel's lips.

"I want to meet him." She stated.

"What no absolutely not." was Lucas' reply and this made Isobel frown

"And why not?" she asked

"Because he's.."

Lucas couldn't finish his sentence because Isobel interrupted him "Because he's what Lucas hmm? It seems that out of the two of you he's the one who is the most mature. Let me guess he wanted to stay pure for his mage but you wanted to live life to its fullest and chose to sleep around why he was just pushed to the back of your mind." Isobel stated

Lucas dropped his head in defeat how did she get it so right in one guess?

"As I suspected. Now let him out!" She demanded

Lucas was about to protest again but this time Shadow forced his way to the surface.

"Hello mate."

"Hi Shadow. I just wanted to say thank you."

"For what beautiful? I failed" Shadow hung his-well Lucas' head in shame.

Isobel reached out and tilted his head up again so that their eyes could meet "It's not your fault Shadow, you tried it was this i***t here that failed" she gestured to Lucas' body to emphasis her point.

Shadow let out a laugh "I thought I was the only one who thought he was an idiot."

Isobel giggled. "Well now you know I agree with you. As much as I wish we could keep this conversation going, I need you to give me Lucas back now."

"But he doesn't deserve you" Shadow growled out

"Hush now. I need to talk to Lucas, this way he and I can get to know one another that way he can make up for his past mistakes and will deserve me." Isobel said

Shadow whined but nodded Lucas' head in affirmation "Fine I will give this dickhead back his control over his body."

Thank you Shadow." Isobel gave him a quick peck on the lips before he closed his eyes, once they were opened again they were back to Lucas' dark stormy grey ones.

"Did you two have a nice chat without me?" Lucas questioned

"Yes actually we did. And now it's our turn." Isobel took Lucas' hand and pulled him towards the bed where they sat and chatted for quite some time.
