WHEN we were done with lunch, Ram and I invited my mom and dad to the living area for coffee and cake. Wendy joined us as well. We still had some things to discuss and we wanted to prepare them for Ram junior’s arrival.
Ram took the lead in the conversation.
Ram: “Mr. and Mrs. Andrada, I would like to apologize for not being able to ask for your daughter’s hand in marriage from you before I proposed to her. I know it’s too late now, but I hope you can allow me to marry Denise.”
Jun: “I wish things would have been different, but it’s already done. And Denise already accepted. I just wish that you will keep our daughter happy and safe.”
Agnes: “Please, just call us by our names. There’s no need to be formal. You’re about to become a member of the family, anyway.”
Ram: “Thank you, Agnes.
