Chapter 3 : OF TREES AND MEMORIES

It’s been days since their reunion. Luca comes to visit Elena at home and also see her grandmother.After some time,they both take refuge in the almond grove,where memories floods them -sweet,bittersweet, and painful- the bakery where they’d shared stolen kisses.Memories clung their vines.
At the tree,they spoke more freely.Luca admitted that he’d written her letters but she never answered.Elena confessed she’d never received them.Her mother had hidden them,furious at their relationship.
Elena was speechless cus she never thought her mother would do a thing like that to her,knowing how much she loved Luca.
Luca on the other hand, was sad for the fact that all the letters and efforts wasn’t recognized by Elena,due to her mother.
It both felt like a burden was lifted off their chests, Elena had a grudge against Luca cus she thought he never tried to reach her,after she traveled abroad.
Hurt turned into revelation.What they thought had broken them apart,wasn’t abandonment-it was interference.
Elena and Luca both spent the day together,telling stories of their lives and experiences in the past years,they both felt warm in each other’s embrace.
The day went so fast and they had to go home,but in their hearts,they didn’t want to leave each other again.
