Chapter 10

Apparently, there was some sort of tournament that is held in this sector. From what I understood it sounded like fighting arena. I remember when I was younger that my father took me to this tournament in Kyzl where I saw these two brothers fight each other. There name was Hakim and Abdul, they were twin brothers that both were technically in line for being the chieftain their territory, if I remember correctly it was for the territory to the far north beyond where I had been to in my time. This tournament on Vega was one of many that apparently happened across the cosmos. There was this planet called Ostrep, that was apparently where the tournaments culminated. Aside for this tournament that this girl named “Erica” was attending to, there were others. “What kind of others?” I asked Walker. “There is a hover bike tournament,” Walker said. “You mean those cycle things that can float?” I asked. “Yes,” Walker said. “What would one do in such a tournament?” I asked. “Probably race each other.” Walker said. “So, whoever wins the race would be deemed champion?” I asked. “Technically yes,” Walker said. “But the tournament has many phases of it and take place in different planets with different participants. Like you remember Eugene Redd?” “How could I forget.” I snorted. It was kind of hard to forget a man that became a giant cracking squid thing that we dubbed the Kraken because of all the cracking noises it had made. “He was the grand champion for years.” Walker said. “So long that they started calling him ENDLESS. This kind of makes me wonder what happened after we killed him.” Walker pulled out that sliver that he had and pulled it open to become that strange map. He suddenly tapped on it and it became something else. It looked like some sort of series of windows. “That could have done that all this time?” I asked. “Oh yeah, I just had the map open because it was more convenient.” Walker said. He poked a couple of the windows and opened another window and started looking at this other window. I had no idea why he was toying with this thing, so I started to get annoyed. “Why are you dealing with that?” I asked. “I am trying to find out about the tournament.” Walker said he suddenly seemed like he had found what he had been looking for because he suddenly said, “Ah here you go.” “UNIVERSAL BATTLE TOURNAMENT SEMI-FINALISTS ARE ALL FIRSTS IN THE HISTORY OF THE TOURNAMENT!” ‘“After the surprise revelation early on in the tournament that former forever Champion, Eugene Redd, announced to have been assassinated by rival champions the Universal Battle Tournament (UBT) faces its first ever set of semi-finalists that does not involve ENDLESS in the past 20 years.”’ “Participants hail from all sorts of different parts of the galaxy who are striving to become the next UBT Champion! There are many surprise participants and some of them are the first of that species in one case the first female to get this far in the history of the tournament.” “I suppose that they are referring to Erica?” Walker said who stopped reading I just shrugged, and he continued. “Hailing from the Bahamas?” Walker said looking confused at the statement. “Where the hell is the Bahamas?” “How the hell should I know.” I said. “The now called the Red Valkyrie of Bahama, Erica is the first female to reach this level of the UBT.” “I heard something about that, frankly I am not surprised seeing how some females I have seen in the tournament were eliminated early on. Erica said when asked about being the first female in the quarter finals.” “Erica has been a stellar fighter combining what looks to us as dancing with close quarter combat and sword play.” “When I was younger, I was part of both my tribe’s dancing troupe I guess you can call it, and the hunting party. Erica explained. ‘So I learned to dance and learned how to fight as a young age. The females of other races seem to be puny compared to the strength and speed we had as young ones.”’ “And indeed, Erica has shown he strength throughout the tournament. From fighting this giant robot, to beating up a weird slime thing, and fending off the female Not..pire…ik…tian?” Walker said struggling to read the word. “Don’t ask me I can’t even read that chicken scratch crap you call a language.” I said. “I think it’s Notpireiktian,” Walker shrugged. “I never even heard of them but apparently they are a race of super strong people who are from a huge planet and because they were on a smaller planet they were super strong because it was easier for them to do things on the planet including jumping hard enough it seemed like they were flying.” “What the hell?” I said. I suddenly saw a flash of the creatures that had attacked my world. Specifically, that lizard creature that was the leader. I remember that this thing had like jumped and seemed like he was weightless despite how huge it was. If it was true that different worlds would have a force that hold people in place, and the bigger the planet the stronger the force. If that is the case the way that lizard moved…that meant that his planet had to have been much bigger than Kyzlbrahma. “Wait, I just thought of something,” Walker said. “Didn’t you say Kyzlbrahma was a big world?” “I think Hanuman was the one that said that.” I said. “So, what about this tournament?” “Oh, hold on…” Walker said looking back that thing he was reading. “Okay so it looks like they talk to her for a while. It actually only talks about her for about two pages.” Suddenly Walker looked like his entire face had lost all blood. “What the hell is the matter?” I asked. “One of the other people in the tournament…” Walker managed to stutter. “Let me guess it’s probably Adam Live,” I said, now getting use to this guy showing up randomly at all ends. “No,” Walker said. He looked back at what he was reading. '“The odds-on favorite to win the tournament, is none other than our beloved and charismatic leader. The Prince of all Fakirs, Xavier Yanez Zuniga.”'
