Cynthia POV
The rest of my day in the office was boring and just filled with me thinking about what Adelie said to me. I have been trying to come up with any possible reason for her to say that to me, but nothing seems to be coming through, and I think I'm losing my mind.
It's finally closing time, and I don't even know if I'm ready to go for this date or if I should just go home and rest my head, but then, I know that I can't bring myself to stand Asher up later.
My phone starts ringing as I walk toward the exit door after I leave the elevator, and I slide the answer button as soon as I see the caller to be Asher. He's always on the perfect timing.
