VICTOR GRITTED HIS teeth when they moved him from the gurney to the CT-scan bed. He gritted his teeth some more when they moved him to the OR. Once they put him under, the gritting stopped. He welcomed the blackness, even though he had fought hard to keep his consciousness not half an hour before. Two hours later, Victor slowly opened his eyes to find himself in ICU. ‘Yep, it was high time I visited one of these places,’ he thought with sarcasm. He had never been in a hospital before, although his adult endeavors would have guaranteed it a couple of times. Victor had his scrapes and cuts as a child and later as a teenager.
