She wiped the sweat off her forehead and glanced at the sky. ‘Still no cloud, damn it.’ Everybody had been praying for rain for some time now, yet, the weather hadn’t given any sign of cooperation. One step out of the car, and her skin would feel sticky. Her blouse stuck to her back and she made efforts to ignore it. She crossed the street gingerly toward the coffee shop where she had sent Mark earlier to order coffee and a light lunch for them while she ran across the street to leave a small gift for her mother.
