The rest of the wedding passes by both excruciatingly slowly, and surprisingly quickly. Oliver and I spent an hour earlier on the beach taking photos with the wedding party and our parents, forcing smiles and playing the part of ecstatic, blissfully wedded bride and groom. Throughout the photo session, the bridesmaids and I shared several meaningful glances - unable to communicate openly via words in front of Oliver’s and my parents, but able to speak in other ways none-the-less. When any one of them shot me a questioning glance - loaded with the obvious question of “is it still on? Are we still escaping?” I’d nod subtly in response hoping that they understood my meaning.
