Loraine couldn’t sleep. She kept thinking about the call. After a few minutes, her phone rang. It was Matt.
“Hello?” she said.
“Am I disturbing you?”
She smiled quietly.
“No. What’s wrong?”
“Hmm…”
There was a brief silence on the other end.
“Let’s… go on a date tomorrow, Loraine.”
Her heart started pounding, and she felt frozen.
“Sure.”
“I’ll pick you up at 8 a.m., okay?”
“Okay.”
She felt both excited and nervous. For the first time, this was the moment she had been waiting for.
She immediately went to her closet and chose a dress.
She picked a royal blue dress and a pair of heeled sandals. She was really happy that Matt had finally asked her out on a date.
