Matt looked at Loraine. Their eyes met.
“Can I make a mistake again?” Matt asked.
She looked at him nervously. She didn’t know what he meant.
“What do you mean by mistake?”
He swallowed and gently fixed her messy hair. He was hesitant to ask, but finally said,

Loraine froze, her chest tightening.
“Hmm…” she whispered.
Matt placed his hand gently on the back of her neck and kissed her softly. She felt frozen at first, but she didn’t pull away.
