In a world full of vampires, there are some places that was protected by the Vampire Hunters. Including the sole academy for Hunters.
Royalties and alchemy exist as the time goes by. Royalties provide materials for the academy and the hunters. But even as a Royal, they cannot intervene the academy's affairs.
The academy, called Hunters Academy, stands on top. A lot of nobles and royalties studies at the said academy with the commoners. They do not discriminate as they establish the academy for vampire hunting.
In this very academy, there are two student commoners who are lovers that everyone envied. They were powerful enough to kill a high ranking vampire. They were special, even their grades academically are high. They are on top.
The jealousy of the students, especially the nobles, tried to drag them down, instead, they were the ones who was brought down.
In the academy, there are two huge training center: the training center for the students and a center made for top notchers.
But this training center of theirs is a closed area and filled with barriers, because of the alchemy of the users are high level.
In the training area, there is a huge oak tree in the center and a young man is resting, standing under as his whole body sweats.
"Zaid!" a young lady came out of nowhere called out the name of the man under the tree and gave a sudden hug from the back.
"Valerie?" the man turn his head to check who hugged him. He confirmed that the lady who hugged him is his beloved. "What are you doing here? You should be in your class. Don't tell me you're cutting classes?"
"What's that? I'm not cutting classes! Professor Keena told me to get out." She let go of hugging him and crossed her arms. Valerie pouted at him and told him the reason of her presence.
"For what reason?" he pinched the nose the the lady and giggles at her.
"Ah, stop pinching my nose!" Valerie removed Zaid's hand but held onto it.
"I just smacked that noble boy." said Valerie as looks at her side avoiding her lover's eyes.
"You smacked him? Pfft, what a tomboy." Zaid just laugh at her and patted her head. Valerie's stopping him to laugh with her face flustered.
"Why are you laughing?! You're the reason why I smacked his head. He's badmouthing you, that's why..." again, she avoided Zaid's eyes and looked down sideways.
Zaid stopped his laughter. He held the face of his lover and face it to him. "Look at me. I don't really care about of what they say to me. You don't have to hurt that noble for me. He might do something bad to you, you know? I should be the one protecting you."
"But still, I will fight for you!" persistently said by Valerie.
"I will be your knight in shining armor!" Zaid said in turn.
Both glare at each other in silence but then, they both giggles at what they were saying.
"This is the reason why everyone is so envious of us."
"They should be. After all, we come a long way. Before, we don't get along that much and you were so annoying." teasingly said by Zaid.
"Excuse me? You are the annoying one!" Valerie pouts.
"Yes, yes. Say whatever you want. I would still love you. I love you, Valerie." Valerie blushes as the young man shows his love for her. Zaid hugs Valerie and burry her face on his chest.
"You're so unfair."
"Hm? Why would I be unfair, my lady?" Zaid ask as he look at the lady's face that was burried on his chest.
"Saying 'I love you'.... You know that it's my weakness. You truly are unfair. I hate you." Valerie continue to burry her face his chest and hugs her lover tightly.
"Do you hate me now?" Zaid ask with a fake worried expression on his face. He already knows the answer but, he just love teasing the girl in his arms.
"Yes. I hate you."
"Oh no. What should I do? My girlfriend so mad right now. She even says that she hates me now." the young man hugs her more tightly and swings her a little as he snickers.
"Stop it. You, pretending, sucks. You really are the worst." Valerie badmouthing her lover but let him sway her body with his strength.
"Yes, ma'am. I'm sorry." he stopped swing Valerie's body and stood up straight.
Valerie crosses her arms and raises her chin. "Apology accepted, Mister Zaiden."
"Thank you, Ma'am."
Both fall into silence and just stood there like a boss and subordinate. The young man break the silence with his confession once again.
"I love you."
"I'm sorry to say, Mister Zaiden, but, I love you more."
"Aren't I lucky, my lady?" Zaid smiles warmly at Valerie and pats her head.
"That's right! That's why you should be thankful for having me as your girlfriend."
"Yes, ma'am. I am truly grateful that I have you as my girlfriend. To be honest, until now, I'm still wondering what kind of great deeds I've done in my past life to have you in this life."
Zaid stares at the lady in front of him lovingly.
He grabs Valerie's hand and invited her to sit underneath the oak tree to take shelter from the sunlight.
The lady accepted his invitation and sat next to him. She held his lover's hand tightly and places her head on his shoulder. Both stares at the bright sky, appreciating the beauty of the clouds.
"After we graduate, they probably will separate us. We're strong after all." said Valerie.
"Don't worry. Even if the world seperate us, our love will never be broken." he kissed his girlfriend's head as she worries of them being separated.
"I'm still worried tho. You might chase or fall in love with another girl, I can't let that happen. You are mine, after all."
"Me? Chase another girl? Why would I do that? No, I will never do that."
"Well, we don't know the future so.."
Both fell into silence. Zaid stared at his girlfriend and looks away as he thinks of a solution to ease Valerie's worries.
"Hm.. Then, why don't we-" Zaid was interrupted before he even finish his sentence.
He was interrupted by the door of the centre opening.
"Professor Jin?" both saw the face of the person who opened the door. It was their professor. The two student stood up and greets their professor and approached him.
"Ah, I knew you two are here. Professor Keena told me what happened, Valerie." the said professor scratches his head as he scold off Valerie.
"Hah, nevermind. Come with me, both of you." Both of them follows their professor.
As they follow the back of their professor, the young man remembered his conversation with his girlfriend.
"Ah, Valerie. Our conversation before were interrupted. I thought of a solution, so...."
"So...?" Valerie waited for her lover to continue his sentence. Zaid smiles at her gleefully and tell her,
"After we graduate, let's get married."
Valerie was shocked by Zaid's proposal. She's a bit speechless but then replied,
"Yes, let's do that."
