RAYANA

Chapter 5

I look at him again for the ninth time. His holding a pencil and a sketch pad. I am holding a book but I don't want to read it. Kanina pa ko naka upo at nakapag lunch na rin kami, I even took a shower and dry my hair, seat in front of him but he always in front of it. Sketching.

I had enough and stand walking to go to bed. I'll get some sleep. I can sense that he stop and look at me until I got up to the bed and lay down facing my back to him.

"You always sleep" He whispered.

"I like sleeping." Sagot ko and I heard him gasp. Not expecting an answer.

Hindi pa nga ako nakakatulog ng marinig ko ang magaan nyang mga hakbang hanggang sa gumalaw ang kama indicating that he lay down beside me. I heard his light breathe and his hand on my hair laying down on my back.

"Don't touch my hair."

Agad na nawala ang kamay sa buhok ko.

"Sorry" He whispered.

I close my eyes after. It's quiet for me to drown to sleep but I heard his voice.

"Are you ready to go to school?"

I stop breathing a bit and breathe slowly opening my eyes again. Napakurap ako. It's been months since I talked to Reiga, but he didn't come after that, but he still deployed some of his trusted men to look after me and letting Zac here. I don't know but I knew something wrong. Not just Arege's declaration of war but also in Villacenor clan.

"Are you?" I quietly asked. He didn't answer so I turn around and saw him looking at me. His staring.

"I'm not.." He said looking and tracing his eyes every corner of my feature.

He recovered so fast, gone all the bruises and marks all over his body, and his healthy skin and flushed pinkish cheek was the evidence that his in the good shape and healthy boy.

"Your just nervous meeting new people.." Sabi ko at tumihaya to look at the ceiling.

"I don't like meeting new people. I like it here with you.." I glance at him and saw him looking down at my hand and reach it after.

"But you have to meet others to live."

"Do you want it?" he asked playing my hand.

Tumungin ako sa ceiling. Do I?

"I don't hate meeting people but I don't like it also..  It's refreshing to meet new faces. Just try it and see." I smile a bit.

"Then I'll try.." He said..

I look at him and saw the lost in his eyes. I look at the ceiling and glance at him again until I couldn't take it.

I got up and held his hand. He followed me to stand up in the middle of the bed.  I hold his both hands and jump. I bounce while he laugh at me.

"What are we gonna do?" Natatawa nyang tanong sa akin while watching me.

"To ease your nervous we had to shake it off!" I eagerly said.

"Jump now Zac!" He laugh at me and try to jump as well. We circle around while he laugh so much at me and smile at him, I laugh a bit with him.

After a while we stumble and fall down to the messy bed, nasa baba na ang mga unan at kumot. He smile so wide and laugh at me while I'm trying to catch my breathe.

"I shake it off!" He said laughingly.

Napapatangong huminga ako ng malalim.

"Do that if you nervous.. Now for me I need to sleep." I smiled facing my back to him.

He just laugh and agree. Lumapit sya sa akin at sumiksik sa likod ko while trying to lift up my head to place it in the pillow with him. He always like that and I let him. We slept through that afternoon.

The next days, after awhile. He surprised me by wearing his uniform for the first time in the morning.

Black shoes, black trouser, and long sleeve polo with a red necktie. He pony tailed his long hair. He look clean?

Natatawang bumaba ko sa hagdan palapit sa kanya. I saw someone near at the door which I think his driver or something? Naka suit din eh. I always saw him with Zac so I'm familiar. I knew that all the men are scattered around the house.

I saw him look away with a flustered face. We are in the living room.

"What are you wearing?" I mused.

"M-My uniform.. It doesn't look bad isn't?" Sagot ko glancing at me and his clothes.

Tinitigan ko yun at tumingin sa suot kung dress na pula, naka suot ako ng fluffy sleepers and always have a messy hair on my back.

"Come here.." Sinyas ko sa kanya at umatras ng kaunti para makarating sa malawak na area.

He obliged and face me. I reach his hands put one on my waist while I put my one hand to his shoulder and intertwined the other to his.

"W-What are you..?" Nabibigla nyang tanong, and I'm laughing again.

"We're going to dance.. You look like going to a... party." I even saw his attendant smile a bit to us.

"It's not!" Nahihiya nyang sigaw sa akin habang inaalis ang kamay but I held him tight and sway my body.

He crinkle his pointed nose at me but still follow my lead.

"This aren't funny.. It's my uniform!"

"THIS is funny.. real hard! Imagine you'll gonna wear this in a whole year. It's Epic!" Tawa ko while letting his one hand go to make a turn with our hand lifted up in the air.

"Yeah right." he said with a hint of annoyance and laugh. I saw him smile at me with so much glitters on his beautiful eyes, he catch me after and hold my waist again.

We stay that way in a minutes until his attendant come to us.

I let him go and smile at the man.

"I'm sorry to interrupted, but Young master your going to be late if we didn't go by now." Saad nung lalaki sabay yuko sa harap namin, I saw his eyes uncertain and full of terror of something.

I look to Zac and find him quiet while staring at his butler.

"It's fine.. Go now Zac." Tulak ko sa braso nya, gesturing him to go.

Dun lang sya humarap sa akin and his eyes is dull different from what I saw awhile ago.

"I-I'll see you later then." He hesitantly said.

I nod waving at him but after awhile he didn't move and just stare at me.

His butler standing on the side and just wait.

"Go make friends!" I giddily said and run to his back and push him to the front door.

"Dapat mamaya sabihin mo sa akin yung mga pangalan nila ok?"

"O-Ok.. Do you want anything? I can buy it for you!" He wanted to turn around and see but I held him to face the door.

"I want apple.. Tell me their names later and your first introduction to yourself that we practiced must be clear alright."

We got out of the house and push him to the waiting car. The bodyguards around alert.

He stop in front of the open door of the car and face me.

"But you have apples in the kitchen already.." He complained. Every time he visits I always requested an apple and it always has been my comfort food.

"Hmp. Just buy it I want a reddish one alright. Ayuko ng may spot.." I commanded pushing him to go in the car.

"Your really bossy.." He groan but I saw him smile.

Sinipa ko sya ng fluffy sleepers ko before running away from him, I heard him laugh so I stop and turn to glare at him.

His bUtler close the door and turn to the other side of the car while his still laughing and waving at me, he put the window down. I sigh and wave at him shouting at him again.

"My apple Zac Don't forget!" Sigaw ko. He nod and still watching me until they go away and get out of my sight.

I run inside and to go to the kitchen to eat and bring out my apples to my room.

I take a bath after and dressed up with my usual clothes which is dress. I was in the middle of my room trying to find my fluffy sleepers when I heard big loud steps around the house and the unsettling nerve that gut through me.

Ang sagitsit ng gulong at ingay sa labas ang bumasag sa katahimikan ng buong paligid. I run to the drawer at the same time the open door. I got my gun and pointed it out to the door ready to shoot. 

"Rayana!" I gasp when I saw Reiga with a murderous look, he held his hand up. I never put the gun down.

"They here " He calmly said but the tension on his shoulder was not good.

In a second, I run to him with bare foot. Bakit parang palagi na lang akung naka paa pag barilan na?

"Go, Go, take the back side! I'll cover you" He quietly said pushing me to the hallway at the back area of the house.

I heard the shootout outside and the rustling sound of the grass and foot steps frantically around the area.

I look back and saw Reiga shoot the man who suddenly got in. They surrounded the house.

I hold my gun firmly and shoot the guy on the head who gut up in the window to the balcony which at the end of the hallway, he died on the spot. I shoot another one and another.

"Go! Go! Rayana!" Sigaw ni Reiga sa likod ko.

I gasp when I saw someone throw a grenade, with a second I run to Reige and push him down at the next door. Nakakabinging pagsabog ang pumaimbalag sa paligid, sa sobrang lakas nun ay nabutas ang pader sa pinasukan naming kwarto at nasugatan ako sa mukha at braso sa pagsabog. Reiga was flatted on the ground breathing hard. The shoot out continues while I pull myself out and shoot someone who throw the grenade.

"Damn Reiga faster! to the window!" Sipa ko sa katawan nya na nastock na ata sa sahig. He got up and go to the window.

I heard him curse before pulling me to him. He just jump without any remorse of getting a broken bones or die on the spot.

From that moment, I know we lost a battle because we land so hard at the ground with him groaning so much and at the fact that the shoot slowly vanished and they showered us a rain of bullets.

But.. I am Rayana. I like death but I fought my life because I have to fulfill something that I haven't done yet, that's why I will not stop fighting until I got what I wanted.

In the middle of those bullet rains, I got Reiga on time and hide ourselves to the forest below. The house was five meters away from the above of the forestry which means it's low high land because this place is a mountain. Gumulong kami pababa until we stock between those big roots.

Muntik ko ng mabitiwan si Reiga at mapunta pa sa pinakababa ng gubat kung di ko lang sya nahawakan sa damit.

He gasp so loud and find another roots to grip. I let him go after and gasp heavily. This is too much today.

"Fuckshit! Damn Arege!" He breathe under his mouth before balancing himself to go the land and helf me put myself up again. I smirk when I saw his really pissed. Nadumihan ang armani suit nya. Nice.

Dahil hindi pantay ang lupa ay nagbalanse kami sa bawat mga punong madadaanan namin. We never waste time to talk and ask anything because I know from that moment, the only thing that makes us ease for awhile was to make sure we're on the flat land and highways.
