SERA's POV
I stood tall, my piercing gaze scanning the horizon, awaiting the return of my Rogues. The sun dipped below the trees, casting long shadows across our makeshift camp.
My mind raced with anticipation. Victory was within our grasp.
Finally, the Rogues emerged from the forest, their heads hung low in defeat.
My eyes narrowed. "Victory?" I called out, my voice laced with expectation.
Kael, my trusted leader, approached me, his eyes avoiding mine. "We failed, Sera."
Rage simmered beneath my surface. "Failed?" I repeated, my tone dripping with venom.
Kael's voice trembled. " They were prepared."
My gaze snapped to Kael, my eyes blazing with fury. "Impossible."
Kael hesitated before speaking. "Alpha Ryder was present, Sera, He led the counterattack."
