That single icy look was enough. Sherry's grip on Adrian's sleeve loosened without her even realizing it. Disappointment and cold anger filled Adrian's eyes. "So it's true? Why would you do something like this?" Sherry lowered her head in panic, unable to meet his eyes. But she still stubbornly denied it. "Adrian... I didn't do it." Before Adrian could question her any further, Lydia spoke again, her voice cold as ice. "Whether she did it or not, I'll find out soon enough. I'll assign people to investigate every detail. If Violet recovers without lasting harm, that's one thing. But if she's left with even the slightest permanent injury, I won't let this go." Sherry's face turned paper white.
