“It’s alright Tama. I think the demons are gone.” She coaxed him into a standing position as she glanced back at Shinbe. “They are gone… right?”
“Yes, the demons are gone,” Kotaro’s voice came from the bedroom doorway just as they emerged from the closet.
Kyoko’s step faltered as she saw the look on Kotaro’s face. Rivers of tears streamed from his ice blue eyes as he looked down at what he was holding in his hand. A feather… a silver feather that looked like the end of it had been dipped in blood.
“And so is Toya,” Kotaro added with a hitch in his voice.
“What!?” Kyoko tried to break away from Tama and he reluctantly let her but Kotaro stopped her at the door and caught her against him. “Let me go! You’re wrong… Toya was just here. I saw him out by the pool! I was talking to him!”
