~Cassie
My eyes fluttered open to a low, heavy voice echoing through the dark, high ceilinged room.
"I would do anything to have her," I caught Rocco saying.
I blinked through the throbbing headache, assuming I was just hallucinating from the hit.
My hands were tied tightly behind a wooden chair. I figured I was sitting in front of another ruthless mafia lord or loan shark my useless father had borrowed money from before abandoning us.
The guy who had slapped me at the club stepped forward, bowing arrogantly. "Boss, I brought a big fish for you tonight. Jack's daughter."
"What's that?" a smooth baritone cut in.
I froze. I knew that voice anywhere, it was unmistakably Enzo.
The thug grabbed my hair and yanked my head up so they could see my face. The moment my eyes adjusted to the light, my gaze met all three of them, Rocco, Enzo, and Silas sitting comfortably on armchairs like kings on their thrones.
In a bit of a second, their relaxed, smiling faces completely vanished.
Rocco reacted first. Without saying a single word, he drew a suppressed pistol from his jacket, pointed it down, and fired three quick shots straight into the thug's legs.
The guy shrieked in agony, collapsing to the floor in a bloody heap. "Get the f**k out,"
Rocco growled, his voice deathly quiet.
As the screaming thug scrambled out of the room, Enzo rushed over to me, his sharp hands quickly untying the thick ropes around my wrists. "I'm sorry, sweetheart," he murmured, his touch surprisingly gentle as he checked my wrists for bruised skin. "Their disrespect won't happen again."
I rubbed my sore wrists, looking between the three of them. "How much?" I asked, my voice raspy. "How much did my father owe you? I have cash now, I'll pay it back."
Silas let out a low, dark chuckle from his chair, while Rocco offered a slow, pitying smile.
"It's not repayable, sweetheart," Rocco said gently. "Not with money. Because you don't have anywhere near enough."
"What are you talking about?" I frowned.
"Your father came to us claiming he needed a million dollars for a kidney transplant," Silas explained, his silver eyes fixed on mine.
My breath hitched. I remembered that horrible year. My younger sister had been dying, her kidneys failing, and she desperately needed an expensive transplant. But then my dad suddenly came home claiming he couldn't get the funds, and she passed away.
That was the moment he started drinking and acting weird.
"Wait..." I whispered, my voice cracking. "My dad got the money?"
Rocco’s smile vanished, replaced by an ugly, hardened scowl. "He got every single cent. But instead of saving your sister, he took our million dollars straight to a high stakes table, gambling it away in a single night hoping to multiply it. He lost everything."
Enzo stepped over to a desk, picking up a crisp, signed document and holding it out for me to see. "When he realized he was ruined, he signed this contract. He told us to take his daughter if he couldn't pay us back."
Tears of pure rage and shock burned my eyes as I stared at my father's signature on the paper.
"When he ran away," Enzo added softly, sliding the contract back onto the desk, "we didn't even bother chasing him. The money was never really our main interest anyway.”
I stared at the signed contract on the desk, the ink of my father’s signature blurring through the hot, bitter tears flooding my eyes.
He had sold me. He had taken a million dollars meant to save my little sister’s life, gambled it away on a single hand, and traded me off like a piece of livestock when he lost.
"He signed me away..." I whispered, my voice breaking as the sickening reality settled into my bones. "He let my sister die, and then he traded me to you."
"Your father was a pathetic coward," Rocco said softly, standing up from his armchair and stepping toward me.
The towering shadow of his broad frame blocked out the harsh overhead lights. "A leech who used his dying child to get a quick payout."
"So what now?" I wiped my wet cheeks with the back of my trembling hand, lifting my chin to glare up at him. "You own me? Is that it? That contract says I'm yours?"
Silas rose slowly from his seat, his silver eyes dark and unwavering as he walked over to stand right beside Rocco. "We told you, Cassie. The money was never our interest. A million dollars is pocket change to a Mikaelson."
"Then why keep this?" I gestured wildly at the paper on the desk. "Why keep the contract if you didn't care about the debt?!"
Enzo stepped up right behind me, his large, warm hands settling onto my hips, anchoring me in place before I could spiral into full blown panic.
He leaned his head down, his lips brushing the shell of my ear as his fingers dug possessively into my waist.
"Because the moment we saw Jack’s daughter," Enzo purred, his voice a low, wicked vibration against my skin, "we knew there may be a drama in the future, and we don't destroy contract letters, never."
Rocco reached out, his long fingers cupping my chin, forcing me to look up into his dark, dangerous eyes.
"Your father gave us the legal right to take you," Rocco murmured, his thumb lightly caressing my lower lip. "But last night, in that private room, you proved you belong to us. We paid off Varcelli, and we wiped your slate clean, we've paid everybody your father owed at least a dime. You don't owe the streets of this city a single cent anymore, Cassie."
"I have a mother to take care of," I choked out, my chest heaving as the three of them completely surrounded me. "I was going to leave... I booked a hotel room, I was getting us out of here…"
"Your mother is already being taken care of," Silas interrupted smoothly, pulling a sleek black smartphone from his pocket and showing me the screen.
It was a live video feed of a quiet, luxurious estate on the outskirts of the city.
"She will be moved there tonight, she will have doctors to tend to her wound, security, and a life where she'll never have to worry about a debt collector again," Silas said, sliding the phone back into his coat. "She's safe. But you stay with us."
I looked from Silas to Enzo, and finally back to Rocco. My heart was thrashing against my ribs, caught violently between terror and the overwhelming, white hot heat that surged through my veins whenever they touched me.
"You're trapping me," I rasped, my breath hitching as Rocco’s grip on my chin tightened just enough to bring my face inches from his.
"We're keeping what's ours," Rocco growled, bending down to capture my lips in a deep, possessive kiss that consumed every last drop of my resistance.
I broke the kiss and stood up and turned to meet Silas.
Tears streamed down my cheeks, hot and bitter, as the weight of everything crashed down on me.
"Why are you doing this?" I sobbed out, my voice cracking in the quiet room. "Why are you doing this to me?"
Before I could sink to the floor, Silas grabbed me off the ground, hauling me up into his massive chest.
He held me tightly against him, his large, calloused hand cupping the back of my neck before he looked down into my eyes with an intensity that burned.
"Because we can," Silas growled low, his silver eyes flashing with a raw, dangerous light. "Because we're obsessed with you. Now look into my eyes and tell me you're not obsessed with us. Tell me... why did you come back tonight?"
I stammered, my chest heaving as I tried to find a lie, a cover, anything to shield my broken pride. But looking at him, feeling Enzo’s hands on my hips and Rocco’s heavy gaze locked onto my face, the truth spilled out.
"Yes! I admit it!" I cried out, the confession tearing through my throat. "I love how you f****d me! I fell for your handsome faces, your thick voices, the aura around you, your manly stances, everything about you! But this is forbidden... I don't love just you, Silas. I love every single one of the three of you! I'm craving all three of your touches once again! I'm a mad woman to sit here and say I want all three of you to myself, that's against every rule in the world!"
Silas stared deep into my eyes, his harsh expression softening just a bit as his thumb reached up, gently wiping the tears off my cheeks one by one.
"Who wrote that rule?" Silas murmured, his voice dropping into a dark whisper, "To hell with them. Even if there's a rule like that, the three of us are willing to break it for you. We will have you equally, and from now on, you're not just mine... you're ours."
I gasped as his large hand slid down my waist, resting possessively over my hip. "What type of men share a woman?" I breathed, my head spinning from the absolute madness of it all.
"The kind of men who take whatever the f**k they want," Rocco grunted, stepping up right behind Silas and sliding his arms around my waist, pulling my back flush against his broad chest.
He buried his face in the crook of my neck, inhaling deeply. "And right now, we want you."
Enzo walked around to face me, a wicked, intoxicating smirk playing on his lips. He hooked a finger beneath my jaw, forcing my mouth open slightly.
"Rules don't apply to the Mikaelsons, sweetheart," he purred, leaning down to capture my lips in a deep, greedy kiss while Silas’s hand trailed lower, slipping beneath my skirt to touch my already wet aching thighs.
"You're ours now," Enzo whispered against my lips, his dark eyes sparkling with possessive hunger. "And you're never leaving this room again until we say so.”
