CHAPTER SIXTY SIX
I tried to move or at least form a word but I just remained frozen where I was standing. That entire conversation that I’d overheard in the kitchen that morning raced through my brain, my nerves becoming aware of the pain of betrayal. I refused to cry and instead, let my eyes blink twice.
