Tunde turned to Dapo, his eyes curious. "Hey, Dapo, now that the lawyer is gone, can you tell us more about how you got involved with Chief Adekola?"
Dapo nodded, taking a deep breath. "Well, I was 20 years old and struggling to make ends meet. I had just graduated from university and was looking for a job. Chief Adekola's wife offered me a job as her personal driver, and I accepted."
My sister leaned forward, interested. "What was she like?"
Dapo shrugged. "She was nice, I guess. Very demanding, but nice. She would often ask me to run errands for her, and eventually, I started doing tasks for Chief Adekola too."
Tunde frowned. "What kind of tasks?"
Dapo hesitated, looking nervous. "Just small things at first. Picking up packages, delivering messages. But eventually, I realized I was involved in something much bigger."
My sister's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"
Dapo took a deep breath. "I would drive Chief Adekola to meetings with other powerful people. They would discuss illegal things, like bribery and fraud. I didn't want to be involved, but I was in too deep."
Tunde's face was grim. "And then you were asked to kill Sarah."
Dapo nodded, tears in his eyes. "Yes. I was so scared, but I didn't know what to do. I thought if I didn't do it, Chief Adekola would hurt me or my family."
Tunde's eyes narrowed. "You're at what age now?"
Dapo replied, "I'm 21."
Tunde's expression turned thoughtful. "That means you've been working for Chief Adekola for about a year now."
Dapo nodded, looking somber. "Yes, that's right."
We all sat in silence for a moment, processing Dapo's story.
