EPISODE SIX

The next morning, I woke up early and headed to the kitchen to start breakfast. Tola and Tunde soon joined me, greeting me with warm smiles. “Good morning, Last Born,” Tola said, ruffling my hair. “Tayo, what’s on the menu today?” Tunde asked with in his usual pride, rubbing his hands together. I chuckled and began serving up plates of scrambled eggs and toast. “Just a light breakfast, we’ve got a long day ahead of us.” We ate quickly, fueling up for the busy day ahead. After washing our dishes, we headed out to the car, ready to face whatever lay ahead. As we drove to the station, the tension was palpable. We knew that today would be a difficult day, but we were determined to support each other and get through it together. When we arrived at the station, we were greeted by a stern-looking officer who led us to Oluwadamilare’s cell. Our hearts went out to our nephew, who looked lost and scared behind bars. After visiting with Oluwadamilare, we headed to the lawyer’s office to sort out his representation. Tunde took charge, using his assertive nature to negotiate a good deal.
