EPISODE EIGHT

Tunde took off after him, his long legs eating up the ground as he chased Dapo through the winding streets. “Come on, sis!” I yelled, grabbing Tola’s arm and pulling her back towards the car. “We need to cut him off!” Tola didn’t need any further encouragement, and we both sprinted back to the car, our hearts pounding with excitement and fear. We jumped in, and I peeled out of the parking spot, racing after Tunde and Dapo as they disappeared into the distance. “We need to block him!” Tola yelled, her eyes fixed on the road ahead. “If we can just get in front of him, we can trap him!” I nodded, my mind racing with the plan. We were gaining on them, and I could see Tunde’s massive frame closing in on Dapo’s smaller form. It was only a matter of time before we caught up. As we raced after them, our tires screeching around the corners, I could see Tunde gaining on Dapo. But just as we thought we had him cornered, Dapo suddenly darted down a narrow alleyway, his agility allowing him to dodge and weave through the crowded market stalls. Tunde followed close behind, his larger frame struggling to keep up with Dapo’s quick reflexes. We tried to block him off at the end of the alley, but Dapo was too fast, and he managed to slip past us, disappearing into the sea of people. We pulled over, panting and frustrated, our plan foiled once again by Dapo’s cunning. But we knew we couldn’t give up. We had to keep pushing forward, no matter what. “What now?” Tola asked, her eyes scanning the crowded market. I shook my head. “We need to regroup and come up with a new plan. We can’t let him get away that easily.” Tunde climbed back into the car, his face set in a determined expression. “We’ll get that boy, na me he dey carry run!” he growled. “No matter what it takes.”
