As I drive to my family house, I ask Dapo, "Hey, Dapo, can you tell me more about your boss? What's his name, and what's his deal?"
Dapo hesitates for a moment, looking around nervously. "His name is...Chief Adekola," he says quietly. "He's a powerful man, with a lot of connections. He's the one who ordered me to kill Sarah, and I'm sure he's behind her uncle's murder too."
I nod, taking mental notes. "Okay, Dapo, I'll look into Chief Adekola. But for now, let's focus on getting you some rest. You can tell me more about him in the morning."
When I arrive at my family house, Tunde and I help Dapo get settled in, while Tola start making some food. As we eat, Dapo opens up a bit more, telling us about his past and how he got caught up in Chief Adekola's criminal organization.
As the night wears on, I realize that Dapo is more than just a criminal - he's a scared and vulnerable person who's been manipulated by someone more powerful. I start to feel a sense of empathy for him, and I know that I'll do everything in my power to help him bring Chief Adekola down.
After some minutes, I can feel my eyelids getting heavy. I glance over at my sister, who's already yawning. "I think it's time for bed," I say, standing up from the couch.
Dapo nods in agreement, looking exhausted. My sister and I lead him to the guest room, where he collapses onto the bed.
"I'll get you some blankets," my sister says, heading out of the room.
I sit down on the bed beside Dapo. "Hey, thanks for telling us the truth," I say. "We'll do everything we can to help you."
Dapo nods, his eyes already closing. "Thanks...I appreciate it."
My sister returns with the blankets and we cover Dapo up. We say our good nights and head out of the room, leaving Dapo to sleep.
But as we're drifting off to sleep in our own rooms, I notice that Tunde is still awake. He's sitting in the living room, his eyes fixed on the guest room door.
"What are you doing, Tunde?" I ask, sitting down beside him.
"I no trust that bobo," Tunde says quietly. "Dapo, I mean. Na criminal him be, and he don already try to kill person. What if he just dey play us?"
I nod understandingly. "I get what you're saying, but we have to give him a chance. He's willing to cooperate, and we need his help to bring down Chief Adekola."
Tunde nods, but his eyes remain fixed on the guest room door. "I'll keep an eye on him, just in case."
I smile, knowing that Tunde is always looking out for us. "Thanks, bro. Your Nephew appreciate it."
