Chapter forty five

Taylor’s POV

The meeting went well, and we now have a plan to get Pete’s family. But it was so hard setting in the room.

I could hear what everyone was thinking, and if it weren’t for Ry, I don’t think I would have survived the meeting.

You have to close the links like you do our mind links, says Ry. You will get the hang of it.

Izzy and I decided not to tell anyone what our ability was. We figured it would be for the best.

Izzy and Shay already mastered theirs, and now I’m trying to get mine under control.

But it was nice to know how sorry Janie and James are about Izzy. Knowing Janie had always wanted her children made me smile.

I felt bad knowing Pete wouldn’t let her be with her children because he couldn’t have his own family. So he made her treat her own children badly.

I feel for Janie. But it is on her to make things right with her children.

I head back to my office to do some work that I have been putting off. Izzy went down to help with the party we are having tomorrow.

I wanted to get my paperwork caught up to be able to enjoy tomorrow, knowing the next day we will all be on a plane to save Pete’s family.

I didn’t want to put it off any longer. Abby has done a great job keeping everything under control.

Jarred, Abby, and Izzy, can you all please come to my office, I said through mind link.

My love is everything, okay? Asks Izzy. Yes, I just need to run something by you. Okay, I will be right there.

We are on our way, replied Jarred and Abby.

Izzy walked in, and Jarred and Abby followed right after.

Izzy walked around the desk, giving me a fast kiss. I grabbed her and pulled her on my lap.

Taylor!! Yes, my love? Let go of me as she blushed a deep red. You are mine, my love, and if I want to hold you, I will do just that. He said chuckling.

Izzy shakes her head but says nothing, knowing she was not going to win the fight.

Hey boss, we’re still here! Says Jarred. Yes, I know, Jarred, it’s not like I can forget you.

Oh, I’m so wounded, says Jarred as he grabs for his heart.

Abby reaches over and smacks Jarred on his head.

Everyone starts laughing while Jarred rubs his head, pouting.

I wanted to run something by all of you and see what you think.

The pack is getting so big, and with the new Luna and everything going on, I think we should give the Luna her own Beta and Gamma. I also think we should add two Deltas just for training. What do you guys think?

I think that would be great, says Abby. We talked about this before, says Jarred,

it would take some of the workload off of us.

Oh yeah, thinking about that, Jarred, you might want to go check out the dining area. I had something done especially for you, Taylor said with a grin.

We all started laughing because we have already seen the dining room. You better hope your mate is not at this party tomorrow night, Jarred.

What did you do, Taylor? I didn’t do anything. I was just showing you my appreciation of a job well done.

Well, he did do a good job that I can’t deny, says Abby, and we all start laughing again.

Taylor, what am I going to do with a beta, gamma, and delta? Says Izzy.

They will help you, my love, and when the offices are completed downtown, you’re gonna need them.

Okay, if you say so. Why don’t you talk this over with your family, and we can go from there. Okay, I will.

We will make a decision after we get everything worked out with Pete’s family.

That was all I needed, you’re free to go. Jarred runs out of the room with Abby hot on his tail.

Izzy and I get up and casually walk towards the elevator to go to the dining room.

I warned him many times. Izzy giggles, don’t you think it was a little harsh though.

I’m hoping he learns to reel it in some.

We walk into the dining room, and Jarred is on his knees looking at the pictures all around the room.

We walk in, he looks up at me and frowns.

I warned you, Jarred, about your drinking. But why this ? Well, did I get your attention? Alpha, come on, I’m not that bad.

Jarred, look at the pictures. And you’re telling me you’re not that bad. You’re my best friend. I need you to see what others see.

You’re my Beta. Do I need to make you fight for that position again?

You wouldn’t dare! Wouldn’t I raising an eyebrow at him?

I get your point, Alpha. Jarred, I’m not telling you to stop drinking, but I am telling you to learn to control it. Especially with everything going on.

If we were attacked, how could you have helped us like that?

And you’re supposed to be the protector of our Luna.

How is that even possible with you like this?

I…I’m so, so sorry, Luna. I never even thought of that. Well, that’s why I said about having two betas and gammas and adding the deltas.

It will take the pressure off you and Abby.

I’m sorry, Alpha. I understand, but did you have to do it like this? Waving his hands all around at the pictures.

Jarred, I got your attention, and that’s what I wanted. I tried talking. It didn’t work. So this is what I came up with.

I kind of admire the sack of potatoes photo of you as I chuckle. Alpha!!

The pictures will be up for a week. I hope you can refrain from me adding more.

Jarred opens his mouth to say something but then closes it back.

Finally, saying, “ Yes, Alpha.” Good now, let’s have lunch. Alpha, I do have one request. What would that be?

I would like to be Izzy’s beta. Taylor looked shocked. I want to be able to protect our Luna like I should have always done.

I will not hand that over to someone else to do. Taylor looked at his best friend with pride. Agreed if Izzy is okay with that.
