Pete’s POV
The first week went by fairly quickly. In the evenings when I got back from work, I would talk to him.
Telling him about my day, the kids. Actually, it’s been really fun getting to know them all. I’m just sorry I missed so much.
It’s gotten much easier since every week we have to spend time with one of them one-on-one. Someday I am going to have to thank Taylor for his punishment.
To be in Taylor’s shoes, instead of punishing the people who hurt his mate, the way we did, Pete sighs, instead of punishing us, he’s helping us.
That says a lot about the man he is and the Alpha that his pack loves. He’s not even bitter, Vince.
His mate, Izzy, shows us compassion, even after everything we did to her. I will always be grateful to her for giving me my life back and a second chance. I will not waste what they both have given back to me.
It’s been so much fun, Vince. They are all very ambitious. Izzy and Liam are outstanding doctors. With the clinic they had built, they help so many patients, patients who normally wouldn’t get that kind of help.
Their clinic is unbelievable; they have doctors from all over the world applying to work there. If this keeps up, they are going to need a bigger place.
Izzy and Liam are so kind and gentle. The clinic would not be as successful as it is if it wasn’t for those two.
Liam only deals with adults, where Izzy deals mostly with children.
On rare occasions, she will take care of an adult. I’m so proud of them both. I could not have asked for better children.
I just wished I would have seen that while they were growing up, sighs Pete.
I told him about Devin and Zack and how well both were doing. Zack is working directly for Taylor now; he’s a wonderful lawyer. Top of his class.
While Devin runs his own business, well, two businesses if you really think about it. His training business and then his security one. They combined both of them together.
I told Vince all about my wife, Amelia, and how things are going so much better. I’m sad for all the years we were separated.
We talked about my children. Well, I talked. He listened. I hope he’s listening.
Leo and Luke are Warriors now for Taylor. They are doing great. I’m so very proud of them both.
They are actually ranked Wolves for Taylor now.
Amy found her mate, Dale. He’s so good with Amy, so understanding. I couldn’t have asked for a better mate for her.
Evie is still looking for hers. She stays positive about it. They all seem happy, and that’s all that matters to me.
I miss you, Vince. Please come back to me. I need you.
The second week was just the same. I did the talking. Vince just listened well. I hope he was listening.
The kids all stopped by, letting Vince know that they hoped he would wake up soon so they could get to meet and know their Uncle.
We are on the third week, and everyone is running around getting ready for the wedding for Taylor and Izzy.
It’s going to be a small but intimate wedding that’s what Izzy wanted, and Taylor wanted. I never realized how much alike those two are.
They are having a huge party afterwards. Just between the three packs, Alpha Tony and his family will be flying in for it.
Vince, you have to wake up so you can go. You don’t want to miss your niece getting married.
I fell asleep sitting next to Vince’s bed when someone patted my shoulder. At first, I thought it was Amelia till I looked up. These bright blue eyes were looking straight at me.
I was at a loss for words as tears ran down my face. He gave me this look of disbelief. I stuttered, “ Vince?”
he just kept looking at me. I pushed the button on the bed . A few minutes later, all the doctors came rushing in.
Dr. Welch walked over and looked at Vince. “Mr. Rowland, how are you feeling?”
Vince shook his head. “Mr. Rowland, can you talk for me?” Vince grabbed his throat like it hurt.
Would you like some water? Vince nodded in agreement. Pete extended his hand, offering Vince a glass of water.
Vince gulped it down, the doctor told him carefully, “Not so fast.” Vince then looked straight at me like he was dreaming, and he finally said his first word. “ Pete?”
I had to laugh, of all the words my brother could say, his first word was Pete!
don’t get me wrong I’m happy he said my name, just surprised is all.
I chuckle, looking at the expression on my brothers face, he looks like he just saw a ghost.
It’s okay Vince you’re safe, not sure on who I’m really trying to convince me or him, but none the less, I’m sure he needed to hear it.
It’s been so long since I’ve actually been able to talk to my brother, now it doesn’t have to be a one sided conversation.
Well at least I hope it won’t be. Vince just keeps staring at me. The doctors are asking Vince questions, he not answering or even acknowledging them.
It’s seems my brother is stuck on that one word, I hope theirs nothing wrong with him.
I wait a few more minutes before I finally say something to Vince again. This time he actually acknowledged that we were talking to him.
Where am I, Pete is it really you? I wanted to say who else would it be?
I can understand his confusion. Let’s he knew Cassius had him and he was fighting just to survive.
I’m just relieved that he’s back here with all of us. Thanks to Izzy and Sally.
