Janie’s POV
It took James and me a while before we could actually face the kids. I needed them to understand that I have always wanted them.
That’s why I was not willing to let Pete kill Izzy when she was born. Things are such a mess, and it’s about time that we all sat down and actually talked about it all.
Izzy has been amazing when it comes to everything. She doesn’t talk to James and me, and I hate it.
I want to make peace and try to build some kind of relationship with her. I know that’s what James wants too.
We asked all the kids and Pete to come over and to talk through everything. So they can see we changed and we actually support each other.
I’m so nervous. James, are we really doing the right thing? Janie, you can’t move forward if you don’t deal with the past.
You already talked to them. No, I told them what happened to get us to where we are now.
We all did a lot of things we regret. You only wanted to help Cassius, yes, but I knew he wasn’t telling me everything. I could have prevented some of this.
Janie, you need to talk to them. I know I do, but I’m so afraid she won’t forgive me.
She’s kept her distance. Can you blame her? We’re the parents, and we have yet to really say anything to her.
We talk to the boys, but they keep their distance. Janie, they keep their distance because we have made no effort towards them.
Sighing, I know you’re right. What time will everyone be here? In an hour. Pete and Amelia should be here soon.
We hear a knock at the door, and it’s Pete and Amelia. James opens the door and lets them in.
“
Come in,” he says, shaking Pete’s hand. “ Hi, Amelia. Please do come in and have a seat,” says Janie.
“
Thank you,” she says, giving a slight smile.
The reason we have invited you over was we all need to make amends to the children.
“
All of them,” says James. “ I believe you are right, James. I just don’t know how to approach the children.”
My own children barely talk to me. They have only heard what Cassius wanted them to hear.
That’s true, but none of us have made an effort to clarify anything to them. They only know parts.
We all played a part in our children getting hurt, and we do owe them an explanation.
But the one who we all hurt the most is Izzy, and she is the one that is helping us instead.
We could all learn something from her, says Amelia. None of us would be with our mates and children if it weren’t for her, says James.
Well, it’s about time we own up to everything, says Pete.
We were all talking and chatting on how we wanted to tell them.
Why don’t we bring Sally here? It would be much easier, and they could get the full story, says James.
Will Sally even do it, asks Janie? It would be worth a try. I’ll be right back, says James.
I go to the pack house and was greeted by Stella. “Hello, James. Is there anything I can help you with?”
Yes, have you seen Sally? Yes, she’s in the dining room with everyone else. Thanks, Stella!! as I walk towards the dining room.
I walk in, and she was right. Everyone was here. Hi, James, are you here to join us, asks Dale.
No, actually, I was hoping I could talk to Sally for a few minutes. Sure, she says, getting up.
We walk out into the hall. You don’t have to say anything, James. Sure, I will help all of you. When do you need me? In ten minutes at the cabin. Is that okay? Yes, it’s fine. Let me tell Noah.
Thank you. We really appreciate this. It’s not a problem at all. I will meet you there. Thanks again, Sally. See you soon, he says as he walks back towards the cabin.

The Past
When Sally showed up, so did all the kids. We even thought it was best the Alpha come too.
That way, he could see everything for himself. He still has a decision to make on what to do with all of us.
OK, Pete, we are going to start with you because if I’m right, you met Cassius first, says Sally.
Take a seat in the chair in front of mine, please. Take a hold of my hands and try to relax; this won’t hurt a bit.
“Flashback.”
Sally starts to chant, and vivid pictures start to play, and it’s like we are standing there ourselves.
Pete is talking and laughing with two guys in a bar. “ Hey Pete, do I know you? No, but I know your brother, Vince.”
Vince? Is he okay? I haven’t seen or heard from him in a while. “ Yes, yes, he’s back at the castle and asked me to come get you. Okay, sure, let’s go.”
We get in a car and drive to the castle. It’s in the middle of nowhere. “ Come on, your bother is waiting for you.”
Okay, we get out of the car and begin walking towards the castle. We descend down a few corridors, then some steps, until we suddenly come across a door guarded by two men.
“
Hey, I thought you were taking me to see Vince.” “ Oh, I am. The door opens, and the smell makes me gag. Where’s my brother? He’s right over there.”
Go see for yourself. I walk over, and there is a man curled up in the corner. I walk closer. “ Vince?”
“
Vince? He looks up. Pete? Yes, it’s me. What are you doing here? They told me you wanted to see me. Pete, run. They kidn*pped me, trying to get to you. What are you talking about?”
Pete runs and doesn’t come back. Just then, a man walks out of the corner, and he starts laughing. “ Well, I don’t think that will be happening,
what are you doing to my brother? Your brother was just to lure you here . Why? Because you, my dear doctor, are going to do what I want to save your brother and your mate.”
“
Oh, yes, I know about your mate also. Who are you? That does not matter. Come with me.”
We walk out of the dungeon and go up some steps, and when we get to the top, we walk down a few corridors and up some stairs.
When we get to the top about three doors down, he opens up a door and pushes me in it.
I will be back in an hour for your decision. I’m looking around the room and at first I see nothing. Then I smell her, roses— the smell of my mate Amelia, Amelia?
Pete? What are we doing here?
I’m not sure they have Vince down in the dungeon. Amelia is crying, and she’s holding onto me tightly.
What is going on? I’m not sure, Vince said they kidn*pped him. Trying to get to me. Why? I don’t know. He brought me to you.
