Taylor’s POV
I just don’t get Jarred. We talked about this. We just got done talking about this s**t not too long ago.
He knows I hate it when he drinks. It’s not like he drinks one or two. Oh no, he goes overboard.
And if it’s not his drinking, he’s chasing some skank. He doesn’t even think of the consequences of his actions. What if we had a rogue attack tonight? Who would he help Abby?
Taylor, maybe you should sit Jarred down and tell him how you feel about what he’s doing! I’ve tried to tell him he thinks everything is a joke! It’s a joke till it’s not, and someone finally gets hurt. Taylor sighs.
I don’t know how to get through to him that his actions have consequences. I’m just not sure he’s ready to face those consequences when they do happen.
Abby sighs. Taylor, he’s your best friend. There has to be a way to handle him without making things awkward between you too.
Do you have any suggestions? Make him fight for his position again? Abby, we know no one wants to challenge him. In the last five years, no one has wanted to challenge you or Jarred.
Yeah, that’s true! Even with all the pack members, Jarred knows how to defend his beta title.
Put him on guard duty. I tried it. The girls just go there and mess with him.
Abby chuckles. I feel sorry for those poor girls. What are you talking about? I feel sorry for Jarred. Have you seen some of those girls? They both start laughing.
I don’t have time to deal with his bullshit. I have enough on my plate trying to help my mate. With everything going on, Jarred
picked the wrong time to be an i***t.
That’s true, says Abby. Maybe I can knock a bottle over his head to knock some sense into him. Laughs Taylor. Feeling a little violent. I see, laughs Abby.
Taylor, give it time. You will figure it out. Keep him busy so he doesn’t have free time. I could, but honestly, that’s not fair to me or him.
I have my own issues. My mate is my priority. I don’t have time to deal with Jarred and his bullshit.
I feel tonight weighed heavily on my mate! She hasn’t really said much about what’s going on. I can feel it through our bond. She’s not happy.
I know she has been watching her parents laugh and joking, and if I were in her place, I would be really upset.
Since neither of her parents has made an effort to talk to her. Yeah, Devin told me about it. He’s not happy with them either, when it comes to Izzy, especially after everything that happened to her.
And what they all went through to escape from it. Abby sighs. Sometimes they’re just… Taylor chuckles. Sometimes words aren’t enough.
Talk later, I’m gonna go check on my mate and deal with Jarred later. I do know one thing: Jarred is either going to stop with all this s**t or I’ll find a new beta and demote him altogether until he can get his s**t together.
Taylor, go check on your mate; we will worry about Jarred later, says Abby.
Thanks for the chat Abby anytime Alpha!
Taylor? Yes, my love, would you mind if we go back to the pack house? I’m tired. No, not at all, my love; let’s go upstairs and change.
Taylor grabs my hand, pulling up the stairs to his room, so we can change into our clothes.
Jarred, what’s up, man? Jarred why do you have to be so stupid when you’re drunk? I just don’t get it, you know what? Never mind,
I’ll go talk to Abby and Devin if you say so, bro. You need to get your s**t together.
I’m wasting my time right now trying to reason with a drunk.
We’re gonna talk about this tomorrow that I can promise you.
He’s getting way too relaxed, and this is not the time for it. I am completely over his behavior.
Walking over to Abby and Devin, hey Abby, Devin,
Izzy and I are going back to the pack house. Can you handle things tonight?
I am going to try to get some alone time with Izzy. Jarred is smashed. Abby sighs. I don’t have time to babysit a toddler.
If he keeps this s**t up, he won’t be my beta for much longer.
Sure, Taylor, it’s not a problem at all. Can we get a ride back to the pack house with you guys?
Sure, go get changed; we will wait for you here. Great, thanks; we won’t be long. Alright, meet you outside when you’re ready.
The drive back to the pack house was peaceful but quiet.
Jarred decided to come back with us too. I don’t know why he’s useless to me like this.
He’s in the backseat snoring. I took a few pictures of him drooling. Ry told me to stick his finger in his nose.
Sometimes I really have to wonder about Ry; it was amusing to say the least for everything he’s done to me.
We pull up at the pack house, and the guards open the doors for us. Hey Dale, how are you? I’m great, thanks for asking.
I hope you and the Luna had a good night. We did, thanks.
Can you please make sure dip S**t makes it to his room?
Dale chuckles, “No problem, Alpha. I’ll make sure the beta gets to his room safely.”
Please make sure that the luna and I are not disturbed for the rest of the evening.
Gamma Abby or Gamma Devin are in charge tonight, so if you have any problems, let either of them know; they can handle it.
Yes, Alpha, I hope you and the Luna have a good evening. As he walks away with Jarred over his shoulder.
I watched as Dale walked over and picked up my beta and threw him over his shoulders like it was nothing. I couldn’t help but laugh.
He looked like a sack of potatoes; I had to take a few pictures of him like that. Chuckling, he brought this upon himself.
Taylor, leave your poor beta alone. Izzy, there’s nothing wrong with my beta, except he’s a royal pain in my…Taylor, don’t you even say it. Chuckling, alright…alright, you win. I grab Izzy’s hand, kissing her palm.
Let’s go, as we make our way up to the Alpha floor.
