Chapter fifty three

1010 Words
Izzy’s POV Tomorrow is Liam’s and my birthday; it’s hard to believe it’s been a year. Everything has been great. I made my peace with Pete; he apologized for everything, and he’s done everything he can to make it up to my brothers and me. Liam and I finished med school; with the help of Mr. Thomas, we were able to set up the office building for the clinic. Mr. Thomas did a wonderful job making sure our floors were exactly like we wanted. Everyone in the pack hospital is rotating from the pack hospital to the clinic; we even hired a few more nurses for the clinic. Pete has actually been a great help. Even my mom has stepped up. After three months, my dad and mom actually set down with my brothers and me. It was an emotional talk. Mom finally told us everything she went through with Pete. I was surprised when Pete and his wife showed up, and they actually came to support my mom and dad. It was nice to see how everyone has grown. We posted the positions for the gammas and deltas, and I was pleasantly surprised when Sally, Noah, Dale, and Steve all signed up for them. Taylor told me Alpha Tony agreed that they should just stay here with everything going on. Besides that, that’s what they all wanted. Dale said his mate is here, and he didn’t want to take her from her family considering the circumstances. Pete’s two sons and a few warriors also signed up. We decided to be fair, so everyone had to fight for their position. We told them anything goes, but they just couldn’t kill each other. Sally won hers within two seconds when she froze her opponent, and no one else wanted to challenge her. We all couldn’t stop laughing when we asked if anyone else wanted to challenge her; they all refused. But like we told them, there are two positions for gammas, so it’s not over yet. Noah stepped out of the running when Sally got the first gamma position. Since Sally and he are mates, it only made sense. Dale ended up getting the second gamma position, which was a total surprise. Taylor was happy because he really likes Dale, and he’s an excellent fighter. We ended up doing three delta positions. One will train the children; their only focus will be the children. The other two will teach the women and men. Abby is going to work with them since she was the one who was teaching the women, so they would know what to actually focus on. And the last one wanted to bring in different styles of fighting to the pack, giving everyone a chance to find what works best for them. Taylor decided everyone should learn to defend themselves. So if you have your wolf, you train at least three days a week. Taylor decided if we were going to have three deltas, they all had to go in the city and pick up another fighting style; he wanted them to be able to teach the pack. Devin is going to head up a traveling training program. Which a lot of packs could use. The warriors will be able to apply for it, but they have to pass a test, and it’s called the best of the best. There are only ten spots that are going to be available. Plus one leader. Luke, Leo, and Steve became the Deltas . Taylor also picked three lead warriors as backups for Luke, Leo, and Steve since they had to go to the city to train in other fighting styles. Scott, Andy, and Brad were aesthetic when Taylor announced them as the leads, and even more so when Devin announced his plans. Things have been really great for everyone. Devin still runs both businesses with the help of pack members. Zack now works with Taylor as his personal counsel. Things have changed for the better. Mom works at the pack hospital. And helps out at the clinic in the city two days a week. While Liam and I are doing our internship. I’ve talked to Taylor about maybe just letting Liam take over the clinic because I feel with everything going on I’m always on the go. And I don’t have time for anything else. But knowing what’s to come made that decision easier. But for now, we’re taking it one day at a time. Sally and Noah have been a great help keeping me on schedule. Jarred has been helping Taylor at the corporate offices; he’s training Dale. Taylor sent Dale and Amy to business school for six months. Which they both seemed to love. Dale came back with a few new ideals for Taylor. And Taylor seemed pretty happy with the direction it was going. Abby is loving her new position as beta. She’s been a great help to Taylor in running the pack. Taylor and I try to eat dinner and breakfast together, but most of the time, training gets in the way. We both start our day at the training fields. I’ve gotten really good at kickboxing thanks to Leo. Luke is teaching everyone tai chi, and Steve picked judo. It’s been a lot of fun learning, but dang, I’m glad I have Shay; otherwise, I would be bruised everywhere. Taylor and I decided not to use the mind reading unless we have to. Taylor told me some of the stories at the office, and boy do I wish we would have kept them to himself. Hence why we decided no mind reading. Some people are just crazy. Izzy? Are you ready to go home? Yes, I’m exhausted! Tell me about it, says Noah. You don’t stop once you get going. Where’s Sally? She left a while ago. She said she had a few errands to run. Taylor and Jarred will be here soon; he just texted. Why didn’t he text me? He did, but you didn’t answer. Oh!! I left my phone in my office.
