Chapter nineteen

Sally’s POV

I was surprised to see the next gift from the goddess. Whatever is going to happen in the future is going to be bad, so I must make sure they are prepared.

We only have a little over three years left before he finds them.

I was relieved when I saw them both laughing.

Now the work starts. I’m not sure how we are going to do this with their schedules. Taylor, Izzy ?

They both looked at me. “You’re going to have to find time for me to train you on how to use your gifts.” Taylor nods. “ Let’s worry about this tomorrow. Tonight is the twins’ birthday and my engagement party.

let’s enjoy the evening and meet in my office tomorrow at ten. That’s great. I’ll be there.

The rest of the evening, everyone danced, played in the pool, or sat by the fire and ate.

I looked around at the family we had all become. I promise I will do everything I can to make sure we are always this happy. Noah walks up behind Sally, wraps his arms around her waist, and says, “Penny, for your thoughts.”

I was just looking at our family. I know my love, and I also know you’re going to do whatever you have to do to make sure they’re safe.

But after all this is said and done, what about us starting a family of our own? She gave him a brilliant smile. “ I would love nothing more.”

We could start practicing now if you want,” she says grinning. He pecks her lips really fast. “ I thought you would never ask,” then picks her up and takes off running to their cabin while laughing all the way there.

Taylor’s POV

The evening went great, better than I ever expected. I was so happy that she agreed to be my wife.

Hey boss? I’m so happy for you! as he puts a hand on my shoulder. “ You deserve to be happy. And Izzy is the best thing that ever happened to you.

Yea I agree,” she says. “She is the best thing that ever happened in my life, and I’m so grateful to the moon goddess for giving her to me.”

I agree, because no one else is going to put up with you, especially when you have your little mood swings. Jarred says grinning.

Rolling my eyes, Jarred, we have been best friends since we were young, and I was wondering and hoping you would be my best man?

Jarred lifts his brow at him and casually says, haven’t I always been your best man? He says chuckling.

I knew I just should have bitten him, says Ry. Maybe I should have let you! Yeah, but you’re right, he probably would have liked it.

Then I would have had to wash my mouth out to get rid of the bad taste. Shaking my head, ewww.

Let’s go get our mates and call it a night. I want to spend some alone time with her.

I agree, we run up to Izzy,picked her up, and threw her over my shoulder and ran back to the pack house with her laughing.

Taylor put me down! Not a chance, my love, your mine! Taylor!!! Not a chance. So you might as well just enjoy the ride.

Sighing, you win. Smacking her on the a**, good girl. My face blushes a deep red. We spent the rest of the night in each other’s arms until the early hours of the morning when we both found a peaceful sleep wrapped in each other’s arms.

Cassius’s POV

These months have been the worst. I lost all of Pete’s family, and we have been unable to find them.

We can’t figure out who has them or who helped them.

But we still have Vince, and they will never get to him.

Martin? Yes, boss, it’s time we move Vince. Since the rest of Pete’s family just disappeared, I want to make sure they don’t get to him.

Boss, I saw him a few hours ago, and he was still lying there on the floor. Put him in the south room. Let him shower and clean up because I am going to need him to get Pete and his family back.

Yes, boss, I’ll go get him now. Take Dr. Mac with you. He might need some help. Yes, boss, on it.

Boss, he says through mind link, he’s not here! What do you mean he’s not here? Boss, the cell is empty. A few minutes later, Malcolm walks into the cell.

Where are the guards that were supposed to be watching him? Right over there. He walks over, boss,we never heard anything.

Reaching over, Cassius pulls out his throat with a single swipe. B..boss .. he stutters.

Clean up this mess and one more mess up and you will follow, you buddy. Y.. yes, boss. He picks up his friend and pulls him out of the room.

Martin, can you tell me how they got in here without being seen?

I’m not sure, boss. I can only smell Vince; there are no other smells in the cell. There’s nothing indicating that someone else was in the cell.

How is that even possible? O..only a witch or wizard could do that, stutters Martin.

I HATE WITCHES; they are the reason I haven’t gotten what I want.

Well, the good thing is Vince is all messed up and doesn’t know anything since he’s been down here all these years.

Martin nods, knowing that if he says anything, it could end up being his death.

Send warriors out and have them search for them. Make sure we are still keeping an eye on Alpha Tony.

Alpha Tony is away on business with his Luna and children; they left yesterday.

Why am I just finding out about this now? What we heard was Alpha Diaz is having an Alpha meeting, and all the Alphas were going.

Ah yes, I did hear about that. Check into it. Sir, we will never get near his pack unless invited. They don’t even have rogue issues due to how prepared they are. His people travel to train packs, he stutters.

They even have a wall all around their pack lands. When did they build a wall? A few years ago.

Pete’s POV

Alpha Taylor and Izzy are a blessing, and I am so grateful and happy for them. Because of them, I have all my family back. I just hope we got to my brother in time.

Your brother is strong, and he’s made it this long, says Sally.

Sighing, I know he is. I…I just can’t lose him, as a single tear runs down his cheek. You won’t. It’s just going to take time. Thank you, as he half smiles.

Izzy walks over and gives Pete a hug.

Pete, I’m not going to tell you he’s going to make it, because I know he will. He didn’t hold on this long to give up now.

If that were the case, he would have given up a long time ago.

And that’s something I would know!

Giving him a cheesy smile. He chuckles, he chuckles and shakes his head. After everything I had done to you, I am so grateful that you became the person you did.

Pete, all I ever wanted was for you to love me, and after everything I saw, I can understand why you didn’t at the time.

But don’t get me wrong, it was still inexcusable to do what you did to us. You have a lot to make up for.

Today, right now, is a good start. Hugging Izzy, I am so very sorry for everything thing I’ve done.

Thank you for everything you’re doing. I will spend the rest of my life making it up to the four of you and my children.

Giving him a kiss on the cheek and a soft smile, hugging him one last time before walking over to Taylor.

These children are amazing. With everything we all have done to them, they are teaching us instead of us teaching them. They are inspiring.

They have so much hope. It’s incredible. I never expected that after everything I did to Liam and Izzy, that they would become doctors. That they would actually follow after me.

A few days have passed, and my brother is still sleeping. The doctors said they have sedated him to help him. I have to agree. I would have done the same thing.

They are feeding him through a tube, and they have two IVs going to help him. Each day he looks a little better, but this is going to be a long road to recovery. But he’s alive.

We won’t know how much damage they did to his brain till he wakes up, but the scans look good. They are going to give him another week before they take him off of sedation.

So far, the doctors say everything is looking good. So now all we can do is sit and wait. And hope his wolf helps him recover.

Taylor’s POV

Things have been really busy but are going well. Izzy is doing great, but she works so much that we hardly see each other. She’s at the clinic, and I’m at the office working on a new security system for the company.

Devin’s got his business off the ground, and they left for Tony’s pack right after Liam’s and Izzy’s birthday.

Mason stayed here to train with Devin since he can’t go to Tony’s pack. We are still waiting for Vince to wake up. Hopefully, after all these years, he can give us some answers. Dr. Welch said they will take him out of coma tomorrow to see if he will wake up.

Pete is really anxious about it. He’s worried if Vince will actually wake up after everything that was done to him.

Me personally, I see no reason why he won’t, but it just might take a little time.

Pete’s POV

Sitting here staring at Vince, he looks so much better. They cleaned him up and even gave him a shave. He’s looking much better, and he’s starting to get some color in his face.

doctor Welch still has him sedated, which is for his own good. But I still worry that when he wakes up, he won’t be okay. They said they are going to try to wake him up tomorrow, and I’m not sure if I can handle him not waking up.

Sally’s POV

I hope he wakes up, says Noah. He will, it’s just gonna take a while. Why do you say that, babe?

I saw what he went through when I touched him, everything that happened to him.

I saw in a flash I’m not sure how he’s even still alive to be quite honest.

He kept repeating to himself that they were never going to get the best of him.

I don’t think he will wake up for another three weeks. His wolf is not strong enough yet.

I know that Izzy could help with this. But even if she does, I still don’t think he will wake up any sooner. Are you going to tell Pete? Yes, I plan to after they try to wake him. Is there anything you could do to help? Yes, but right now, I don’t think he needs that. I think he needs time.

Maybe that’s why the goddess showed me what happened the way she did because normally I would have to say an enchantment to see his past.

I never thought about that. He needs the peace. And we all need to give him that space.

An hour later they tried waking him but unfortunately he never woke up, never even moved.

As Pete sobbed about his brother I whispered to him, “Don’t give up hope, he will wake up, he’s just not ready yet.”

He needs time. Pete looks up at me with a questioning look in his eyes, trust me he will wake up,

be patient he went through a lot and he is not mentally or physically ready to wake up quite yet.

But he will wake up. Just be there for him when he does. Giving him a hug, telling him once more to be patient.

Then she and Noah leave the room.

Pete’s POV

The first week went by fairly quickly. In the evenings when I got back from work, I would talk to him.

Tell him about my day and the kids. It’s been fun getting to know them all.

It’s gotten much easier since every week we have to spend time with one of them one on one.

It’s been so much fun, he tells Vince. They are all very ambitious. Izzy and Liam are outstanding doctors,

plus they are kind and gentle. The clinic is running great and it’s all due to them. Liam, he only deals with adults where Izzy deals with children mostly, but on rare occasions she will take care of an adult. I’m so proud of them both.

I told him about Devin and Zack and how well both were doing. One was working directly for Taylor while the other had his own business.

I told him all about my wife, Amelia, and how things are so much better.

We talked about my children. Well, I talked, he listened about Leo, Luke, how they were Warriors now for Taylor, and they were actually among the ranked wolves for Taylor.

I talked about how Amy found her mate and Evie is still looking for hers, but they are all happy.

I miss you Vince please come back to me I need you. The second week was just the same I did the talking and Vince just listened well I hope he was listening.

Here we are now on the third week and everyone is running around getting ready for the wedding for Taylor and Izzy. It’s going to be a small but intimate wedding that’s what Izzy wanted and Taylor agreed.

They are having a huge party afterwards where all the Alpha’s and Lunas were invited. The Luna ceremony was right before the wedding and a few Alpha’s and lunas would be present for both. But they were also close to the family. Vince come on you have to wake up so you can go.

I fell asleep sitting next to Vince’s bed, when someone patting my shoulder I thought it was Amelia till I looked up and these bright blue eyes were looking straight at me.

I was at a loss for words as tears ran down my face. He gives me this look of disbelief. I stutter Vince?

he just keeps looking at me. I push the button on the bed and the next thing you know all the doctors came rushing in. Dr Welch walks over and looks at Vince, Mr Rowland how are you feeling?

Vince shakes his head. Mr Rowland can you talk for me? Vince grabs his throat like it hurts.

Would you like some water? Vince shakes his head yes. Pete got up and got a glass of water and handed to Vince.

Vince gulped it down and the doctor told him careful not so fast. Vince then looked straight at me like if he was dreaming and he finally said his first word. Pete?
