Izzy’s POV

That man is such a sleaze, he makes my skin crawl. The things he was thinking make me want to puke.

I don’t think I can do this, Sally. What do you mean? Don’t get me wrong. I love Taylor, but I don’t think I can put my pack and people in this kind of situation.

I don’t think it’s fair to them. Well, what are you planning to do then? I should leave. I can’t stand the thought of putting Taylor in danger all because they want me.

You really should sleep on it, Izzy, or talk with Taylor and get his opinion.

I already know his answer, but what about all these families who trust me? How can I knowingly bring this war to them?

Even if we fight theirs, there’s no guarantee that we will even win.

Taylor doesn’t even want me to fight. He wants me to be in the safe room with everyone else who is unable to fight. What justice is that, Sally?

As a Luna, how can I just stand by and watch this happen? Well, what do you plan on doing?

What I should have done a long time ago is leave so this pack and our friends and family don’t pay.

Ricky walked out of the corner he was hiding in. Alpha Cassius is going to love this. He laughed as he walked down the hall.

Taylor’s POV

It’s around 1 a.m. when we finally make it back to the pack house. We were all laughing and joking around, and I couldn’t wait to be with my mate.

It’s been such a long day. I’ve tried to mind link her a couple of times, but then I’m hit with this excruciating pain. It feels like someone is ripping my insides out.

I grabbed my chest, and the next thing I know, I’m on my knees, and Jarred is trying to help me up.

I’m struggling to get up, but when I do, I run towards the elevator. Izzy, please answer me. Ry is howling in my head. Something has happened to mate.

Help mate. All of a sudden, I felt this disconnect, then another, and another. I howled, shaking the whole pack house, waking up everyone.

Jarred was holding onto me, telling me to breathe. But everyone felt it when we lost three pack members. But what they didn’t know was their Luna and our trusted deltas.

I made it back to our room, and I was yelling, Izzy, baby, please answer me. There was nothing, complete silence. You could tell she had never come back here.

I fell to my knees in disbelief. My mate, the love of my life, left me. I went berserk, breaking everything in sight. Devin, Zack, and Liam ran into the room and grabbed me, trying to calm me down.

The

next thing I know, I woke up in the hospital, tied to the bed, with the room full of people.

Where is she? Where’s my Luna? We haven’t found her Alpha. We haven’t been able to find any of them.

Jarred walks forward with an envelope in his hand. Taylor, when the maids were cleaning your room, they found this. It’s from Izzy.

Taylor? How do you feel? I’m fine. Release him, are you sure? Yes, release him.

After he was released, I handed him the envelope, and we all left the room.

Pacing back and forth, Ry finally speaks. Just open it, you’re getting on my last nerve.

Sighing, Taylor sets down on the bed and opens the letter.

My dearest Tay,

I want you to know how much I love you, and I never wanted to hurt you. I need you to know how precious you are to me and how grateful I am to have been your mate.

You and Ry are the best thing that ever happened to me. And I will forever cherish the time we spent together. But for now, we must part.

I cannot put you and our pack in danger. I would never be able to live with myself. If you or one of the pack members got hurt.

Please forgive me. Please don’t bother looking for me. I made sure I would not be found.

Just know how much I love you. There is no need to wait for me; please just accept my rejection so we both can move on.

Taylor’s POV

That’s it, that’s all she had to say? Setting down, looking defeated. She knew we were all here for her.

She did, but it became too much for her. Say’s Jarred. She could have talked to me. Yes, but would you have listened?

I’m not letting her go; she might have rejected me, but I’m not accepting it. She’s mine, and I will find her.

Taylor, she left with Sally; the chances of you finding her… don’t even say it, Jarred. I’m not giving up on her.

Shifting and running out of the hospital. Giving a loud howl for our loss. I then heard other howls of sadness thrown out by the pack for the loss of our Luna.

It was a devastating loss for our pack. I ran for hours. Lost in my thoughts

. Okay, are you done feeling sorry for yourself or are you going to man up and find our mate, says Ry.

It’s time for us to get down to business and find them. She might have rejected us, but if you calm down, we can still feel the connection to her.

Cassius, we need to meet! What do you want? The woman that you want, I have important information on her.

I will send Martin to pick you up. Where? On the east side of the mall. What time? In an hour, can you manage that?

Yes, I’ll be there.

This should be easy to get out. Since no one would be expecting me.

Jarred’s POV

Rav! Sal! Yes, Beta, they both mind linked. I want you to let Ricky out of the pack when he gets to the gate.

Salvador follow him, take the motorcycle and make sure he doesn’t see you. Don’t let him outta your sight.

Rav have Luis man the gate and I need you to help Sal so don’t get caught.

I will send Bailey to help Luis.

Ricky should be at the gate soon. Do not stop him. He is not to know you’re following him.
