Chapter two

Back in the Red Moon pack

Mason, go get the Rowlands and bring them to the office. Yes, Alpha, right away.

It took Mason about fifteen minutes before Pete and Janie showed up at the office with Mason following from behind. Please come in and have a seat. I have a few questions for you both.

Sure, Alpha, anything you want. Is everything okay? asks Pete.

I would like for you to TELL ME how does all three of your children leave our pack at the same time? Alpha Tony says calmly.

MY lead warrior, MY future lawyer, OUR future pack doctor who was helping me with the stock market are gone, and I want to know why, so TELL me, Pete, as I glare at Janie.

Al..Alpha we don’t know. We saw them this morning, stutters Janie. Everything seemed fine when we left.

We already know that, our warriors told us they saw the three of them and a girl leaving together, replies the Alpha.

Pete and Janie look at each other as the Alpha tells them about the girl in the car.

They looked really scared.

And not five minutes later, after leaving our pack grounds, they all leave our pack and become rouges. Care to explain? Or even who the girl is that was leaving with them?

Janie stutters words I don’t even understand. Pete looks white as a ghost.

Beta, take these two back to their house and see what you can find. Children don’t just get up and leave without a reason.

Yes, Alpha, Dale and Steve, take these two back to their place, wait for me there, don’t let them out of your sight. Yes, Beta. Pulling Pete and Janie from the room.

Janie was crying, Pete is shaking, and looks pale as a ghost. I will be there in a few minutes after I finish up with Alpha. Yes, Beta, shutting the door behind them.

Tony, what do you think happened to them? I’m not sure, Mason, but whatever it is, it was big enough to make all three sons leave? And who’s the girl? The warriors that were on guard said they have never seen her before. What would make three boys that had so much going for them all turn rogue at the same time?

I’ve had my guy look into their backgrounds, and he can’t seem to find anything out of the ordinary. I did find out that Liam graduated two months ago from high school. He never told me. I know that they all got inheritances from their grandparents;

they confirmed that much to me. But I can’t even find any information, even on their inheritance; it all just disappeared.

The boys just disappeared, and anything about them went with them.

Do you think the boys planned this? asks Mason. I’m not sure what to think, sighing.

I reached out to the boys’ grandparents and asked them if they knew why; they seem just as lost as we are.

The boys didn’t tell them anything either. I didn’t want to say anything in front of Pete and Janie because they don’t know the boys talk to their grandparents.

I know Janie has not talked to her parents since she married Pete; he made sure of that. But I never understood why.

Janie was always close to her parents. And I was even more surprised when Janie just accepted it. Mason, we need to know what Pete and Janie are hiding from us to make those boys just disappear.

Mason, see what you can find; leave nothing unturned at that house. Yes, Alpha.

At the house, we find absolutely nothing; the boys’ rooms are the same, nothing taken, not even clothes. The only things that are missing are their computers and school books.

Tony, the only things missing are their computers and school books, Mason says through mind link.

Keep looking, Mason, we’re missing something, you’re right, we’re missing something; I’ll keep looking.

Walking to the back door, looking out contemplating what I had missed. I see this old shed; it seems very out of place compared to everything else.

Dale, do me a favor and check out that old shed. Yes Beta as he walks out the door.

Pete, why don’t you make this easy and tell me…”

“

Beta Mason, you might want to see this. I’ll be right there,”. Keep an eye on these two Steve, I’ll be right back. I walk out in the backyard to the old shed. Asher, my wolf, starts acting a little weird.

“

Hey Dale, did you have a problem with Rin, when you came out here? Yes the minute I got close to the shed. Rin started to act up.

I push the door open. He sees a few old, used blankets and some old girls’ clothes neatly folded in the corner. It was clean; the shed looked like someone had been living in it. You could smell her; she wasn’t a rogue, but she wasn’t from our pack.

“

Tony, you might want to come see this. We’re in the backyard. It might explain why all three boys took off like they did. Be right there, good job, Mason.”

Five minutes later, Alpha Tony shows up at the house. “ Mason, then shows me what he found.”

We walk out the back door towards the shed. I can smell something, but I’m not sure what. Charlie my wolf starts going crazy. Charlie, what’s going on? it seems they masked the shed’s smell with something, and I’m not sure what it is.

“

Mason, have Carly run some tests around this shed. I want to know what they used to mask it with . What exactly were they trying to hide?” Carly is really good with things like this, Pete has been training her to take over for him when he planned to retire.

Mason scratches his head. I think I know what they were hiding,

what do you think it is?

The girl that was in the car with the boys.” That’s the only thing that makes sense.

Tony’s POV

I opened the door and I’m appalled by what I see. How could someone live in this room? It’s cold and there are only a few old blankets and some used old clothes. How??? I’m seeing red. Who was she? Now that I’m inside the shed, I can smell her. Why was she living in the shed? Why didn’t we know about her?

Mason, bring those two out here. Yes, Alpha. Steve, bring the Rowlands out here. Yes, Beta. Pete’s trembling and Janie is crying. I didn’t understand their behavior, but now that I see this shed, it makes sense.

Pete, care to explain? Pete just looks at me, never saying anything . Janie, what about you? Do you have anything to say? Yes, it..It belongs to our daughter.

I look at them dumbfounded. What daughter? You only had boys. Noooo, Alpha. We have a daughter. Her name is Izzy. She’s Liam’s twin. They were both born the same day. I look at Janie like she had just grown two heads. What ? Is all I could reply.

Beta, Mason, find Sally for me. I want to see what really happened here. Sally is a witch that lives on our pack lands. She’s mated to one of the warriors.

She can let you see the past if you have an item of that person. She has quite a few neat tricks.

Steve, Dale, take these two back inside and wait for the beta to come back.

I walk into the shed and I take a deep breath.

I can smell her. It’s light, but I can also smell blood. What did they do to you, Izzy? What horrible things did they do?

An hour later, Sally walks into the shed, gasping. I turn and look at her. Alpha, you wanted me. Yes, I want to see what happened here.

But I want to start inside the house first with Janie. She said she had a daughter, and I want to see what happened to this little girl. Yes, Alpha. Bowing her head and leaving the shed.

Dale, can you sit Janie in that chair over there, says Sally. Pete looks at the Alpha and says there’s no need to do this; we will tell you everything. I gave you a chance, and you lied to me. Now Sally will show us all what really happened here.

Sally sat in front of Janie, grabbing her hands, and began chanting. We started to see vivid images of what had happened all these years: the beatings,the t*****e, how the boys tried helping her, taking her food and things when they could. But when they would get caught, Izzy was beaten severely. How the boys would plead with them to stop.

Tears were running down Sally’s face as each new image appeared. Mason was livid. Dale and Steve were so angry that their hands were in fists.

I stuttered, “Why???? Why would you do this?” Pete, has a smile on his face. She deserved it. Was his only reply. Janie lowered her head in shame, crying, “ I’m so sorry.”

“

Beta, take them to the dungeon until I can figure out what to do with them. Yes Alpha, with pleasure, grabbing Pete and pulling him out the door. Janie was picked up by Dale and Steve; she was screaming, “ I’m sorry” as they took her away. I sat there for a few minutes, dumbfounded by what I just saw.

“

Sally, are you okay?” asked Tony. “ No, I’m not,” she shook her head as tears rolled down her cheeks. “ Alpha, how could they do this?

I don’t know. But I understand your frustration. I’m right there with you, but I still need the entire picture, so I’m asking, are you able to continue? I need it all. I need the complete story.

I nodded, walking out to the shed. I set in the middle of the shed and grabbed a shirt that I believe Izzy wore. I took a deep breath and started chanting. Vivid pictures started playing like we were watching a movie.

Tears ran down my cheeks. As I watched it all play out, the years of t*****e these kids had to go through. It’s a miracle Izzy even survived. But I think Izzy survived because of her brothers. Alpha, I think her brothers waited till they both turned eighteen to leave.

I think you’re right, Sally. That would explain why Liam graduated early. They covered everything, making sure their parents had no say over them. They made sure that I didn’t have a say in the matter either. Because they are all of age.

We will continue to look for them to make things right. What happens to Pete and Janie now, asks Sally? Well, that’s not for me to say, but I will make their lives miserable. Who has the say to what happens to them? Well, that belongs to their kids. They should be the ones to decide what happens to them.

For now, we will contact the council and let them know what’s going on. But since they were the ones tortured by them, It’s only fair that they answer to them. And it looks like Izzy took the brunt of it all.

But even seeing the vivid pictures, it still doesn’t explain why they ran and didn’t come to me.

As for Pete and Janie, we need to find out. Why they did it. There’s no excuse for what they have done. But I want to know why. I needed answers.

Mason brings Janie to the office, leaves Pete in the dungeon, I mind link.

A few minutes later, Janie comes into the office with Mason,crying.

I sigh and have a seat, Janie.

Explain to me, Janie, what is going on. Janie starts to cry harder, saying she’s so sorry.

STOP!!! Tell me what is going on. She starts mumbling about this and that, and between her crying, I got nothing. Mason, take her back to her cell. I am going to have to get with Sally to see if we can get a more clearer understanding of what happened at that house.

Taylor’s & Jarred’s POV

Jarred, I can’t get this girl out of my head. She’s in so much pain, she’s suffering so much every day. I run my hand through my hair. Each day, the pain is worse. I can feel every punch, slap, shove, even her sadness since I turned sixteen. What the h*** are they doing to her?

In the beginning, it used to affect me a lot, but as the years passed, I learned to deal with it. This is so frustrating. Why can’t I find her? “Sighing.”

We will start looking for her again. I’m sure there are some packs we haven’t gone to. That’s true. Set it up. Maybe you’ll find your mate too.

Yeah, sure, but who says I’m looking? “Chuckling.”And who says you’re not? Arching an eyebrow. Alright, you win. I am, but it’s okay if I don’t find her. I have plenty to keep me company. “Winking.”

Eww…No…stop too much info. “Scrunching up my nose.” You’re gonna regret sleeping around when you find her. Seriously, you’re gonna regret it, shaking my head.

We all can’t be saints like you, Alpha. I chuckle. Let me know when everything is ready to go. Your saint Alpha has spoken, busting up laughing.

Jarred just shakes his head. Sure, saint Alpha, if you say so. Turning around and shutting the door behind him, mumbling, “ A******.” I chuckle at his response. It’s a good thing we grew up together.

Taylor, I got a hold of the Red Moon Pack to see if we can stay a few days there. I told the Alpha you’re looking for your mate, and you wanna talk some business and maybe an alliance between the packs.

Alpha Antonio Reeves was more than happy to hear that. He said when we’re ready, let him know so he can make the arrangements. Okay, but for now, I have plenty of work, so get out. It’s gonna be okay, Taylor, patting me on the back. We’re gonna find her.

Sighing, I hope we find her soon before something really bad happens.

Two weeks later at the Red Moon Pack. Ry, what’s wrong with you? You’ve been agitated since we got here. D****, stop pacing. I can’t think.

If I knew, do you think I would be pacing?

Ugh, you’re impossible, I say, blocking him out. Alpha Tony has been great, and his family has been more than accommodating. I envy him. His pack lands are beautiful, and his pack loves him and his Luna. I respect that. That’s what I want, not some s**** who only wants me for my money and title. But I still haven’t found her. Where are you? The pain that she’s going through. How could someone be so cruel?

Ry has been so restless since we got here, and I keep having to block him. So I can talk business with Alpha Tony. Hey Ry…oh Ry, want to go for a run? About time you thought of me. I chuckle, like you ever let me forget. You have been pacing around all day, giving me a headache. What is going on with you? Not sure since we got here, I have been on edge. Really? Like I couldn’t tell.

“Chuckling” Well, let’s go run, maybe that will help. Jarred you up for a run? Alpha, I’m a little busy. I chuckle, you’re gonna regret it later.

Yea, yea, I know when I meet my mate, I laugh. Have a good run, Alpha.

I ran through the forest for hours, chasing rabbits or whatever critters I could find. His pack lands are beautiful. They are well taken care of. I come upon a beautiful two-story house on the edge of the pack lands, flowers everywhere. But in the back, there’s an old shack or shed.

Ry goes crazy, but we can’t get close to it because it’s behind a fence. What’s wrong with you, Ry? I smell something, just can’t tell what it is.

It’s probably all the different flowers. Yea, maybe. I sigh, let’s go back to the pack house. I get dressed and enter the pack house; it’s dinner time. Jarred waves me over.

Did you have a good run, Alpha?

Yes, but Ry is still restless. I can’t get the shack off my mind. There was something about the shack, I’m just not sure what.

A beautiful red-headed girl comes up to me, starts flirting, and touching me. She’s beautiful, really nice body, and I do mean nice, curves in all the right places, but I’m not into the pack s****; all I want is my mate.

Jarred starts laughing, and I give him a glare. Excuse me, miss. You might be pretty, I mean beautiful, and you have a great body to go with it. BUT don’t ever touch me again without my permission. So get your hands off me now! She looks at me like I just stole her cookie or maybe her favorite toy, “ugh,” stomping off calling me a jerk.

Jarred busts out laughing. This is ridiculous, Jarred. How do beautiful women not have any self-respect for themselves or their mate they have yet to meet?

You know what? Don’t answer that. You’re a man, w****, so it was useless to ask you. I laugh.

Why don’t you tell me how you really feel, Alpha? “Laughing” Man W**** busting out laughing.

You do know that the elders eventually will try to get you to take a chosen mate. Yes, I know. I will deal with it when the time comes.

Alpha, you’re gonna die a virgin. “Laughing.” Shut it, Jarred glaring at him. We all can’t be man w****s. I smirk. I NEVER… sounding really offended.

Sure, you have. I laugh. The next morning, I’m still thinking about the shack. It seemed so out of place.

Alpha, are you ready to go? Yes, grabbing my bag. “Sighing”…time to go home. We walk down the stairs to find Alpha Tony and his family waiting for us. I put out my hand. Alpha Tony, thank you for letting us visit your pack.

He takes my hand shaking it. I’m sorry you didn’t find your mate, but at least we were able to work out an alliance between our packs. And maybe a few business deals down the line. I’m sure it will benefit both our packs.

Thanks again for your hospitality. Luna Cassandra it was a pleasure to meet you and the babies but it’s time for us to go home. Thank you Alpha Taylor. It’s been a pleasure, Alpha have a safe trip home. I hope some day we get to meet your Luna.

Oh before I go I wanted to ask you a question about a two story house with a old shed in the back that’s on the edge of your land.

What about it? I’m not sure my wolf has been acting weird since we got here. But when we ran across that house my wolf got really agitated like if we were missing something.

We get to the office and Alpha Tony explains the situation to me. I am in disbelief at what I am hearing. My heart drops at what he’s telling me.

Alpha I’ve felt my mate since I was sixteen and she has been through hell. I was wondering if I could see the house and shed.

We walk down stairs where Jarred and Mason are talking and drinking coffee.

Mason yes Alpha, can you please go get Sally and bring her to the Rowland house.

As we got closer to the house the more Ry started acting up. Ry what’s wrong? Again with the stupid question if I knew I would have told you already duh. “Jerk” blocking him out.

We walked into the house I could smell the faint scent of vanilla and strawberries. I fall to my knees hands over my face shaking my head this can’t be. Alpha Tony puts a hand on my shoulder. I’m sorry, but We will find them.

A few minutes later Mason and Jarred walk in with a girl she was cute about five foot five long brown hair. She must be Sally.

Hey Sally I hate to do this but Alpha Taylor needs to see what happened here. But I think in the shed might be better.

Alpha if you will follow me please. I get up slowly looking around wondering what really happened.

I follow her outside and Ry goes crazy. Ry stop it. Mate mate mate. I know Ry but she’s not here … MATE!!! I know Ry.. stop so we can find out what happened.

Sally opens the shed and alls I can smell is vanilla and strawberries its overwhelming and so calming.

Sally picks up a shirt and sits down in the middle and starts chanting… and vivid pictures start flashing threw the room.

I fall to my knees and start to cry Jarred grabs my shoulder, we will find her Taylor. I knew it was bad Jarred I just didn’t know it was this bad. We will find her Taylor I promise, then you can make it all up to her.

Alpha how long ago did this happen? The day before you got here.

Sally starts to walk out and turns around, Alpha Taylor.
