Vince’s POV

Am I imagining things that can’t be Pete sitting in front of me.

Last time I saw him he was being dragged away after they set me to get to him.

This has to be an illusion. Pull your self together says Ralph. Ralph?

It can’t be I haven’t heard from him in almost eighteen years.

How is this even possible. Open your ears you Stupid human. Yes it’s me who else would be dumb enough to talk to you.

Yep it’s Ralph but how? Well your gonna have to ask the person in front of you,

Or do I have to explain everything to you. Maybe we should trade places and I do the talking.

Ralph? Stop with the Ralph and talk to them. Raising my head I look at the man I haven’t seen in over eighteen years if I kept count right, even some of those days were even blurry.

P..Pete I stutter it’s weird even hearing the sound of my own voice. He reaches over and grabs a hold of my hand.

It’s really him, I told you, now would you ask what happened, or do I need to do it.

I got this Ralph, go take a rest or something. That’s the problem I’ve been resting for over eighteen years and it’s a little cramped here.

Alright alright I get it, you want out you annoying mutt. Now your talking my language as he chuckles.

Pete just watches me as my eyes flicker from blue to black. He finally squeezes my hand to pull me outta my thoughts.

Pete how is this even possible? How did I get here? Well that’s a long story and we got plenty of time for that.

But for now let the doctors check over you to make sure everything’s okay.

Shaking my head the doctors move forward giving me a check up.

Mr Rowland? Hey stupid he’s talking to you! Listen you lousy mutt if you don’t go lay down I’m never gonna let you out EVER!! Fine, as he blocks me out.

The doctors are looking at me amused. Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve had to deal with him.

Usually we get along great. But he’s been trapped for so long he’s sort of rebellious. The doctor chuckles, how about you tell me how you’re feeling and then maybe we can work on helping you with your wolf.

Sure. Ralphs just standing there with his tongue hanging out but not daring to say anything.

Thought you were blocking me. Ralph doesn’t reply, that’s fine you don’t need to answer eighteen years of silence so I’m used to it.

Ralph just shakes his head and turns around showing me his a**. Aww now I’m really feeling the love Vince smirks.

I feel good Vince finally replies. Muscles are sore but besides that I’m good. You haven’t walked in a while so I will get a nurse to come help you.

For the time being there’s a wheelchair for you to use. No need for the nurse, Vince I’ve got you. You sure?

Yes yes he’s my brother and I can handle it.

Ok then I’ll have a nurse come in and take the IV out. But he can’t leave or be discharged tell he eats.

Nothing big, I know his stomach won’t hold a lot so take it slow. You know how this works Pete.

That’s fine. Im starving anyway I feel like I haven’t eaten in years he says with a grin. Everyone stops and looks at him like he’s lost his mind.

Well good to know you haven’t lost your Sense of humor. Vince grins.

Pete it’s good to know you still don’t have a sense of humor he says as he winks at him.

Willam on second thought can we sedate him again. Everyone starts laughing.

I missed you too brother. Pete just shakes his head, I missed you too.

The nurse came in with lunch and took out his IV and left the room leaving only the two brothers. Okay Pete start explaining how did I get here?

Pete’s POV

Well it’s a long story so start eating and I’ll try to explain. I am gonna try explaining this with a short fast version.

Cassius used my family against me had me marry someone else but she could only get pregnant with her actual mate.

He some how got a hold of her mate and used him against her, so the only time I saw my family or she saw her mate was when we were allowed to mate.

She got pregnant 3 times that way. I raised her kids while mine were held hostage. I became bitter, and abused her kids trying to kill her daughter.

She stopped me. We made her daughter live in a shed, while I abused all of them, until her brothers decided to escape with her.

When she escaped, her mother and I both went to jail. When she turned twenty one she met her mate and her mother and I were sent to this pack of her mate.

Then Cassius attacked Red Moon Pack. My fake wife’s mate was arrested at the Red Moon Pack and then brought to the Blue Moon Pack.

Where they figured out we all were under an Alpha command.

the daughter I abused all these years showed mercy on us and released us all. With the understanding we had to get our life together and fix the past.

Then Izzy’s mate worked with the Red moon Pack and freed my mate and children.

Then my fake wife’s mate knew where you were in the dungeon, we then used a witch to help you escape.

We brought you here and you know the rest. Pew.. that was just the fast version. Vince’s mouth was wide open.

He was at a loss for words. Close you mouth Vince you might catch a fly! How? How? How did.. you know what forget it. I’m just glad it all worked out.

Yes it did we have some amazing kids. You’ll meet them all soon enough.

Now that I ate how about that walk? Sure let me get you wheel chair and we can go from there.

No I want to walk on my own two feet. That’s fine but when you get tired you can sit.

Fine go get it. The minute I tried to stand my legs gave away and Pete barely caught me.

Wow I knew you always wanted to be in my arms but you didn’t have to do it like this Pete said grinning.

Yeah yeah it’s not like my legs gave me a choice. Well I told you to wait.

Laughing, when have I ever listened to you? Yeah good point that’s how we got into this mess in the first place.

Pete I’m really sorry, I never meant for any of this to happen. I know it’s just.. you know what let’s just go outside for that walk Pete?

Vince I forgive you, I did worse and Izzy forgave me. So I forgive you. Your my brother my best friend and I’m glad your safe as he hugged me.

Vince’s POV

I watch my brother and I can see how much he’s changed. I wish I could say I was surprised by what he said but I’m not.

I heard Cassius and his men talking on what they were doing with his family and how they were using them to control Pete.

They thought I couldn’t hear them, but I heard everything. I know he wants Izzy, because she’s special.

That’s all that he would ever say. But Martin would ramble on about everything, he never shut up.

Pete he wants Izzy! Izzy is different she doesn’t need her true mate to have children. She is from the moon goddess bloodline, and any children that she will have will be special too.

Pete just looked at me like I was crazy. Which I probably was.

What do you mean? I heard Cassius telling Martin that they needed to find you because he wants Izzy.

That was his whole reason for doing everything he did, was to get Izzy.

When he lost you and the children he went crazy.

He was hoping that the guy he sent would get your wife and you back, but you both had disappeared, he got arrested, and disappeared also.

He said he wasn’t worried about it since he had done something to you all.

He did he alpha command us, which almost cost me my life until another Alpha had seen it before.

My Alpha tried to remove it but it didn’t work.

Then Taylor the Alpha from this pack was able to remove it. He must be a powerful Alpha because no one should have been able to remove it.

He is, he’s Izzy’s mate. Well now that would make since. Anyone who’s mated to Izzy is going to have to be powerful.

that would make sense said Pete, I never thought of it that way, but now that you mention it, he would have to be.

When we walked outside it took my breath away,it’s been over eighteen years since I’ve been outside. The wind was slightly blowing and you could hear the rustling of the trees.

It was green with flowers everywhere. It was a beautiful sunny day, not too hot just perfect.

I stood there staring at my surroundings it was just like I had imagined but better. Ralph was jumping around in my head repeating run, run, run alright I get it you want to run. I’m not sure if I can but we can give it a try.

Pete I’m going to try to shift, so I hope you brought extra clothes I smirk. That’s not a problem I will have Amelia bring some. Okay Ralph all yours as my bones begin to break and realign I can’t say I remember it hurting this bad.

S**t this hurts I mutter, well we haven’t shifted in over eighteen years, what did you expect? Rainbows and lollipops? Yes that’s exactly what I expected you s****d mutt. It took us about ten mins before we shifted completely. Ralph stood there on wobbly legs. Can you walk?

Ralph takes a step but falls over, haw!!! Not as easy as you thought. Ralph just grumbled at me, then got up and tried again, it took him about four try’s before he finally took off running.

I have never felt more alive. Russ finally caught up to us and tried tackling us.

Ralph side stepped before he could. Russ is sandy brown with grey streaks where Ralph is just sandy brown. They are both just average height but Russ is just a little bigger but not by much.

We ran, played and hunted for hours, okay Ralph time to go back I’m exhausted, your exhausted you haven’t even done anything he smirks.

Well if we don’t go back now then you won’t be coming back about for a while, fine he grumbles heading back towards the hospital.

We get back and on my chair are clothes for us to change into. Pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt and my hospital slippers are still next to the chair.

It took us a few minutes to change back it wasn’t as bad as last time, but I was exhausted I took a few steps and my legs felt like jelly so I decided just to use the chair.

Thought you didn’t need the chair laughed Pete, yea yea just shut it and start pushing, I’m tired and hungry I grumble, laughing, okay let’s get you back to your room and I will have them bring you some food.

That night Vince got to meet everyone, him and the kids got along great especially since he is a big kid himself.

He was amazed by Izzy and Taylor and how well they fit together and how kind Izzy was even after everything that had happened to her.

He admired Taylor for being such a strong but kind Alpha, he said it was rare.

Taylor was rare when it came to Alphas but at the same time never underestimate him.

He had worked hard to make his pack this strong.

It was a busy but great evening one I never thought I would get a chance to have again.

I was beyond grateful. And that night was the first time in many years I found peace when I finally fell asleep no nightmares but a very peaceful sleep.
