Chapter eighteen

Taylor’s POV

The day has been so crazy getting ready for tomorrow. It’s a good thing Izzy and Liam are working in the clinic today instead of the pack hospital.

It gives everyone time to make sure we’re all ready for tomorrow. Abby and Daisy have done a wonderful job, with the help of Sally.

Things had gone so much smoother, giving everyone time to focus on other things.

All the decorations were done in green and white, with white lilies and yellow roses everywhere.

The ballroom looked like you were outside looking up at the sky with all the stars; it was so elegant and magical.

We had Alphas and Lunas coming from all over to celebrate with us.

Then after, we would have a small party at the pack house just for family and friends.

It’s going to be a long day, but hopefully, Izzy will say yes to my proposal.

The Party

Jarred, is everything set for tonight? Yes, everything’s ready!

Daisy, Abby, and Sally did a great job. They already picked up the gown you picked out for Izzy and picked up Liam’s tux too.

So calm down, we have it all handled. The whole pack knows, and everyone will be here. Devin, Zack, and I will be there to greet all the Alphas and Lunas that came.

They are already at the hotels getting ready.

Everyone we invited came. Tony and his family are already here.

Izzy’s uncle, cousins, and grandparents are already with Janie and James; we are keeping them all out of sight.

Liam and Izzy are still at the clinic; Pete told me they would be finishing up soon. Abby took Sara and Amelia; they left to go get ready. They should be there soon. So relax, handing him a glass of bourbon.

I know I just don’t want anything to go wrong. The only thing at this point that could go wrong is if Izzy and Liam decide they don’t want to come!

Jarred!!! Hey boss, I’m just telling it like it is, he says laughing.

Well, you’re not helping. Who says I’m trying to help Jarred, says with a smirk. Jarred, get out.

Oh, I see how it is. First, you want me in, now you want me out. Can’t seem to make up your mind these days! Indecisive man. He says with a grin.

Jarred!! OUT NOW!! He chuckles. Alright, I’m going!! We could just bite him in the A**, says Ry.

No, he would probably like that, he chuckles. That might be true, but he always has something to remember us by, laughs Ry.

Taylor chuckles. I don’t think he has that problem, Ry. You’re probably right, now that I think about it.

Mind linking Abby… Abby, are you guys there yet? Yes, Alpha, we just pulled up. Stop worrying, we got this.

Good, I’ll go get ready, and I’ll meet you all at the venue with everyone else. Great, will we see you there.

Izzy’s POV

Abby, what’s the hurry today? I’m not sure. I’m just following orders. Yeah, but normally Sally and Noah are with me.

Yes, I know. Sally said she had a few things she needed to finish up and asked me if I wouldn’t mind coming to get you today since everyone was busy.

Taylor just sent warriors with us today since everybody was busy.

I was told to bring you this dress and have you get ready here. Taylor had a meeting today and will meet us later.

Jarred is running the pack while Taylor is at the meeting, and I’m here with you.

Your mom and dad are taking you and Liam out to dinner, so I have your dress and Liam’s tux in your offices.

A tux? Asks Liam. Yes, your mate is already waiting for you. Don’t give her a hard time, just go take a shower and get ready, please!!

Okay, okay, we’re going, sighs Izzy. I’m not sure what the big deal is, but I’ll play along.

I walk into my office and I see this beautiful floor-length emerald dress. It’s a one-shoulder wrap dress that has a slit going down the side.

It’s a silk material that is so soft. I took my shower, and when I came out, both Abby and Sara were waiting for me.

Abby did my hair, leaving it down, pinning one side up. It was beautiful when she finished.

Sara did my makeup. It was light but very stunning. It was a natural look that I was pleased with.

I put on the dress and it fit me like a glove. It felt really nice against my skin. I slipped on a pair of white heels that came with the dress. It was beautiful. I felt beautiful. I couldn’t believe this was me. Abby gasped as I turned around. “ You look gorgeous, Izzy.”

Shay was prancing around in my head. “ We’re gorgeous!” said Shay. “ I feel beautiful.”

Well, that’s because we are beautiful. A little conceded, aren’t you, Shay? Well, if you have it, flaunt it! Shay!! I think not.

Shay just laughs.

Okay, we are going to be late, Luna, so get your little b**t moving. Alright, alright, I’m coming as we all walk out of my office.

Downstairs, Liam, Amelia, and Pete were waiting for us. When they saw us, Liam walked over and told me, “You look gorgeous, sis. You don’t look so bad either.”

Sara walked over to Liam and said, “Isn’t my mate handsome in his tux? Very dapper, I chuckle.”

You look beautiful,” says Pete. “ Thank you. As he gives me a kiss on the cheek. He puts out his arm and asks, ‘May I?’”

I smile at him taking his arm. Then he holds out his other arm for Amelia. “ Thank you!!”

It’s my pleasure. We walk out of the clinic, and there are two SUVs waiting for us. Pete helps me get in.

When we get in, I notice you can’t see out of the windows. “ Abs, why can’t we see out the windows?”

Oh, it’s a surprise. You’ll see when we get there.”

Taylor’s POV

Everything was finally ready. And everyone was inside waiting for us to enter. Jarred, Daisy, and Devin were all outside waiting for them to pull up.

Abby told me they were only a few minutes out, and I couldn’t wait to see her in her dress.

I looked up and saw the SUVs pulling up. I walked over and opened the door for them. I reached in and took Izzy’s hand to help her out.

When she finally stood in front of me, she was stunning. I was at a loss for words. “ Taylor? Oh, ummm, Taylor? I’m sorry, you’re just so beautiful. I was at a loss for words.”

That’s a first. The mighty Taylor Diaz is at a loss for words. He was stunned silent, said Jarred as he chuckled.

Taylor just glared at Jarred, while Daisy smacked him.

Izzy giggled at them like a little schoolgirl. All right, boys, let’s go, says Pete.

Yeah, let’s go, says Liam. Sara just shakes her head and holds Liam’s hand.

Izzy’s POV

Taylor looks so handsome in his tux. I can’t take my eyes off of him. I couldn’t stop myself from giggling at Jarred’s remark to Taylor.

Can’t we jump his bones right now, says Shay. Shay!! What? Look at that hunk of a man. I am, I said, blushing..

laughing your just too innocent. Shay, be good. We have all night. Alright, as she goes to the back of my mind.

Taylor holds my hand, and we walk into the building. It was beautiful. Everything was green and white.

I couldn’t take my eyes off how beautiful it all was. Lilies and yellow roses were all around with fairy lights hanging everywhere. When we walked into the main room, everyone yelled Happy Birthday, Luna, Izzy, and Liam.

People walked over, hugged us, while Taylor introduced all the Alphas and Lunas that came to greet us. I was overwhelmed, so was Liam, but we both took it with stride.

Care to dance, my love? Sure, but I’m not a good dancer. Don’t worry, I won’t let you fall as he pulls me to the dance floor.

We danced for a few songs, and someone taps Taylor on the shoulder. May I cut in? At first, Taylor had an angry look till he turns around to see my father, James, standing there.

He smiles at him and says, “Sure,” handing me off to my father. James smiles. “ I have always wanted to do a father-daughter dance,” says James.

I never thought I would get a chance to be able to do this with you as he smiles at me.

Dad, I’m sorry for all the lost time. But we have now. I will always be here. He kisses my cheek. “ I’m so lucky to have a loving daughter as you, even though I don’t deserve you.”

Dad, stop. We’ve talked about this. It’s not your fault. As much as you want to blame yourself, it’s not.

Let’s not dwell on the past and let’s just enjoy what we have now and what the future holds for us.

James hugs me. I’m so lucky that you’re my daughter. I love you, Dad. I love you too. Happy birthday.

Let me give you back to Taylor before he blows a gasket, he says chuckling.

Alright. We walk over to Taylor, and he takes my hand. You’re a very lucky man, Taylor. Make sure you take good care of my little girl.

Don’t I know it! And you have my promise, sir, shaking my dad’s hand. All I could do was smile.

Around eight in the evening, Taylor tells me it’s time to go. Everyone else was partying and having a great time. Are you sure you’re ready to leave?

Yes, I’m ready. Besides, I have a surprise for you. We told everybody good night and went to the pack house. When we got there, all of our family was there. Everyone looks so happy. When we got out, everyone was wishing me happy birthday, and we walked around back. The fire pit was going.

Jarred and my cousins were in the pool. My uncle and dad were barbecuing. This was way better than the big party we went to first.

Taylor’s parents were talking with my parents and grandparents. Tony and his wife were in the pool with the kids.

We walked around talking with everyone. Izzy, I’ll be right back. Oh, okay. He gave me a fast kiss and walked away.

I was talking with Abby and Daisy, waiting for Taylor to come back. When Daisy said, “ Izzy, you might want to turn around?” Huh? Turn around.

Turning around, Taylor is on his knee with a ring box in his hand.

Izzy, you’re the most beautiful person inside and out. I am the luckiest man on Earth to have you as my mate, my partner, and my Luna. You make me so happy, and I am so grateful to have found someone as kind and loving as you. Will you marry me? Will you be my wife?”

Stunned, I stood there in silence while everyone was looking at us. Izzy? Yes, yes, of course. Yes !!! He slid the ring on my finger and kissed me like it was the first time we ever kissed.

Everyone clapped and cheered, and congratulated us. The evening was so much fun, until Jarred thought he was being funny and dumped a bucket of water over Taylor’s head. The next thing I know, the ground was shaking and the wind started to blow. Taylor!!!

I ran over and grabbed his hand, then the water started splashing and the fire started getting higher and higher. Sally rushed over, Taylor took a deep breath and calmed down.

I started to panic, Izzy breathe, Taylor look at Izzy and focus, you both need to calm down before you tear the pack house down.

Taylor’s breathing started to slow and the ground slowly stopped shaking and the wind started to slow down.

Izzy focused on Taylor, I looked at Taylor and he had a smile on his face and I began to relax, the fire went down and the water slowed. Well, we now know what the goddess gifted you next.

Taylor and I just looked at each other and we both started laughing.
