The next day at school, Ozy thought she was in the clear. But as she walked down the hallway, she felt Felix's eyes on her. He was staring at her, a knowing glint in his eye, and she felt her heart race with anxiety. Felix, what again, do you want to kill her with your eye, Gabriel asked. You won't understand, let's get to class. Anna, her best friend, noticed her discomfort and frowned. "Hey, what's going on? You look like you've seen a ghost." Ozy hesitated, unsure of what to say. She didn't want to lie to Anna, but she couldn't reveal the truth either. "I'm just...tired, that's all," she said finally. Anna raised an eyebrow. "You're tired? That's not what it looks like to me. It looks like you're hiding something." Ozy forced a laugh. "You're just being paranoid, Anna. Don't worry about it." But Anna's eyes lingered on hers, and Ozy knew she wasn't convinced. She felt a pang of guilt for lying to her friend, but she pushed it aside. She had to be on the safe side, no matter what. Ozy waited until the hallway was empty before she approached Felix, her heart pounding in her chest. "Felix, can I talk to you for a minute?" she asked, her voice low and urgent. Felix raised an eyebrow but followed her to a quiet corner of the hallway. "What's up, Ozy?" Ozy hesitated, unsure of how to phrase her request. "It's just...you're staring at me a lot, and Anna is getting suspicious. She asked me what was going on, and I had to lie to her because of you." Felix's expression turned serious, and he nodded. "Sorry, Ozy. I didn't mean to cause any trouble. I'll stop staring, I promise." Ozy's tension eased slightly. "Thanks, Felix. I appreciate it." Just then, a figure darted around the corner and disappeared from view. Ozy's eyes widened as she realized it was her sister, Alex. Alex had always been jealous of Ozy, and she had a knack for showing up at the worst times. "Look, Felix, I have to go," Ozy said quickly, her eyes scanning the hallway to make sure Alex was really gone. Felix nodded. "Yeah, sure thing. I'll keep my promise, Ozy. No more staring." Ozy smiled weakly and hurried off to her next class, her mind racing with worries about Alex and what she might have seen. She couldn't let her sister ruin her secret, not now that she had finally found a way to keep it hidden. As she walked away, Felix watched her go, a thoughtful expression on his face. He had promised to stop staring, but he couldn't help feeling curious about Ozy and her secrets. I think I have a plan, the thought, Gabriel, he shouted as he walk to his classroom. No matter what I must know what she's hiding from us he thought. Little did he know, he was about to get pulled into a web of lies and deception that would change everything. An hour before dismissal, Felix excused himself from class, claiming he wasn't feeling well and needed to go to the nurse for his scheduled injection. His teachers, accustomed to his exceptional intelligence and responsible nature, didn't question his excuse. Gabriel, his best friend, played along, feigning concern for his "ailing" friend. Once out of the school premises, Felix made his way to Joe's Diner, his mind fixed on uncovering the truth about Ozy's secret life. He pushed open the door and marched straight to the counter, where Mrs. Amaka was busy prepping for the lunch rush. "Mrs. Amaka, can I have a word with you?" Felix asked, his tone polite but firm. Mrs. Amaka looked up, slightly surprised. "Felix, what brings you here? You're not ordering food today?" Felix shook his head. "No, ma'am. I need to ask you something. Why is Ozy working here?" Mrs. Amaka's expression turned guarded. "What do you mean? Ozy is a hard worker, and I'm happy to have her help out." Felix leaned in, his eyes locked on hers. "I know she's not getting paid, Mrs. Amaka. And I know she's struggling in school. Her grades are slipping, and she looks exhausted all the time. You're not doing her any favors by keeping her on." Mrs. Amaka's face softened, and she sighed. "Felix, I...I pitied her, okay? She seemed like a good kid in a tough spot. And she told me she loves cooking, so I figured it was a win-win. She gets to learn and earn some free meals." Felix's expression turned persuasive. "Mrs. Amaka, please listen to me. Ozy needs help, not a part-time job. Her grades are suffering, and she's clearly overwhelmed. If you care about her, you'll let her go. I'll even help you hire more staff, if that's what's keeping you from letting her go." Mrs. Amaka hesitated, clearly torn. Felix's words struck a chord, and she nodded slowly. "Alright, cause I won't be pleased if it was my own child. I'll let her go. But you have to promise me you'll help her, really help her, not just use this to manipulate her." Felix's face lit up with a triumphant smile. "I promise, Mrs. Amaka. I'll make sure Ozy gets the help she needs." Then he left happily. Let's see what else she's going to do. He told himself. Here's a possible continuation: After school, Ozy trudged to Joe's Diner, her usual enthusiasm for work dampened by the weight of her secrets. As she pushed open the door, Mrs. Amaka's sympathetic expression told her something was amiss. "Ozy, sweetie, can we talk?" Mrs. Amaka asked, her voice gentle but firm. Ozy's heart sank. "What's going on, Mrs. Amaka?" Mrs. Amaka hesitated, her eyes filled with a mix of guilt and concern. "I think it's best if you take a break from working here, Ozy. At least for a while." Ozy's eyes widened in disbelief. "What? Why? Did I do something wrong?" Mrs. Amaka's expression softened further. "No, dear, it's not that. It's just...Felix came to see me today, and he told me about your grades. I had no idea they were suffering because of your work here." Ozy's face flushed with anger and embarrassment. "How does Felix know my business? And how did you...?" She stopped short, realization dawning on her. "You told him, didn't you?" Mrs. Amaka's lips clamped shut, and she nodded slightly. Ozy's anger boiled over. "I can't believe you did that! And now you're taking his side?" Mrs. Amaka held up her hands, placating. "Ozy, I'm only trying to help. Felix seems to care about you, and I trust his judgment." Ozy snorted. "Care about me? Ha! He's just trying to control me, like everyone else in my life." She spun on her heel, her eyes welling up with tears. "I'll deal with Felix tomorrow. This is getting out of hand." As she stormed out of the diner, Mrs. Amaka called after her, "Ozy, please don't be offended we was just trying to help. Ozy's response was a slammed door, leaving Mrs. Amaka to wonder if she had made a grave mistake. I'm really trying to write this story short
