“Ugh!!! I’m not ready to go home,” Chris says.
“Neither am I but the real world is calling us home,” I tell her.
We pack up the rest of our things and one of the staff members carries our things downstairs. We ride down in the elevator together and Luiz is waiting in the lobby. He has tears in his eyes like he’s barely keeping it together. I run into his arms and hug him close. He’s like the grandpa I always wanted.
“Vou ter saudades tuas,” I say. (I’m going to miss you.)
