Chapter 46As we near Gerona airport my hands are shaking holding the steering wheel. I'm trying to give the impression that I'm in control for Patricia's sake, but in truth, I'm quaking. I hadn't actually thought about the flying part of the trip, now the prospect of being in a metal tube travelling at a very high speed in order to avoid crashing into the ground terrifies me. I try to push the thought from my mind and concentrate on negotiating the airport signs. We manage to find the car park and we leave the car, then wheel our suitcases into the terminal.
