Chapter 28Patricia and I share a very lumpy bed which is in a curtained-off area of the main living room. Anna is asleep upstairs and once again, Frederick is in the field with his dog. The elderly couple have gone home for the night and the young couple are being accommodated in the barn. I fall asleep as soon as my head hits the equally lumpy pillow and I don't wake until early morning.
It's Ollee who breaks my sleep by licking my face. The dog refused to stay outside last night as the noises of the countryside and the unfamiliar surroundings upset him. We ended up having to give in to him and let him inside because his incessant whimpering and scratching at the door was disturbing everyone else.
