Five “Ashleigh?” I knocked on the closed door, wondering what to expect when I entered. “Come in.” Drawn in by her silky voice, I pushed the door open. The hinges shrieked as they revealed a dimly lit room that smelled like vanilla and strawberries. “Ash?” The lock clicked behind me as I studied the scene. The duvet was spread along the wooden floor, scattered with petals of the only flower that blossomed in the winter.
