The Mistress

Chapter II

"Jo, what's my schedule for today?" I asked my manager who was sipping coffee at the veranda.

"Meet-up with your friend Lexi at 8:30 am, 

Lunch meeting with Mr. Lim at 11:30 am, 

Meeting with the executives of Quinndom Magazine at 3:00 pm. That's all." she said smiling at me.

"Okay, leave now, just meet me here, 11:00 sharp." then gave her glares to shoo her away.

"You're being rude again, Agatha. Can't you be nice to your manager?" she said, grinning at me

"Whatever, just leave now."

"Okay, okay, I don't wanna piss you off early in the morning." she said before walking out the door.

I fixed myself & headed to the five-star restaurant where Lexi & I agreed to meet.

Her eyes lit up upon seeing me enter the door. We haven't seen each other for 6 months coz she stayed in New York for a modelling stuffs.

The thing is, she can contact me anytime but she didn't. 

I just hope my guts aren't right.

"Hey,Miss Frowning Glory, you still haven't changed." she said teasingly before hugging me so tight.

"And you know I hate you calling me that." I gave her a glare.

"Can't you learn how to smile? Or even show interest on anything."

"I'm not an open book for everyone to read. I'm locked & caged and it's my choice."

"Let's stop this. I know I'm not gonna win an argument against you." she chuckled.

We ordered food & drinks and started eating. 

"Tell me, did you have a boyfriend for the past six months?" she wiggled her eyebrows teasingly.

"Boyfriend? None, but I dated one guy."

"You just dated? What the hell happened after?" 

"I found out that he has a wife."

"Wtf that's disgusting!"

"Yeah, totally disgusting. I wasted a month with him." 

"That man is planning to make you his mistress! You should have told his wife!" she looks pissed off with the idea

"I'm in no mood to meddle with his life & one thing's for sure—I won't ever love a married man." I gave her a reassuring look

She just gave me a nod

"Are you hungry? You can eat, I'll just go to the restroom." she seems quite uneasy

I nodded at her before sipping at my frappe.

She looks quite suspicious.

I abruptly fished my phone out and scanned for bugs & viruses.

My blood boiled upon seeing that it was bugged.

I turned it off and looked around, realising that this cafe is situated above a lake.

I walked over the huge window and threw my phone into the water.

That freak is hiding something under her sleeves.

I got back to my seat before she came out of the restroom having beads of sweat on her face.

"Are you okay, Lex? You seem nervous." I raised my eyebrow at her

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine." she said while wiping off her face

"She must've offered something big for you to do this." I looked straight into her eyes to intimidate her.

"What are you talking about? I just missed you a lot, we haven't seen each other for months, I just wanna cope up with your life." she gave me a wide smile.

"It's not like we're living in the snail mail era, you should've contacted me, but you didn't. Do you really think you can fool me?" she heaved a deep sigh 

"I just missed you, why are you acting like this! I tolerated your behaviour for years, and this is what I get? Baseless accusations?" she acted like she's about to cry

"Fake tears." I chuckled

Her eyes widened upon hearing my words.

"Every single day, I meet people who had thousands of masks. That mask won't deceive me." her expression changed, her eyes were filled with anger & frustration.

"Who ordered you? I didn't know I was talking to a puppet all along" I tried to intimidate her but she's... tough so I held her arm firmly, my nails dugging into her skin, but she just smiled.

"Agatha Verdana! What are you doing to me? Are you...trying to hurt me?" my eyes widened when she said that aloud—enough to get everyone's attention. I can feel so many eyes around me, some were shocked, others were in awe.

She pulled me closer and whispered into my ear.

"I could ruin your reputation in just a snap of a finger. Be careful, my Agatha. Always watch your back." she pulled away and acted as if she's fixing my hair.

I was holding back. I badly wanna slap that b*tch.

I recomposed myself and smiled at her.

"Hey, how could I hurt a good friend like you. I was just testing your reflexes! We're both Taekwondo black belters, remember?" I said as if reminiscing some childhood memories.

"Oh, I'm sorry for that...I just misunderstood your actions." she flashed a fake wide smile.

"By the way, I'm late for my next appointment. Can I go now?" she looks so pissed but still managed to smile 

"Yes, you can. I'm leaving too." her smile is really annoying.

She paid the bill as I walked out.

I was about to leave when I saw her walking towards her car. She was doing something on her phone.

I thought of a bright idea.

I started my car's engine and accelerated towards her. Her attention was focused on her phone, not noticing my car approaching.

I beeped to get her attention.

She looked horrified and screamed so loud.

I halted right in front of her and got out of my car.

She dropped on the floor, her arms covered on her face.

I walked towards her laughed devilishly.

"Hey! Are you trying to kill me!" she shouted at me with fury.

"Actually, no, it was a prank! I'm so sorry if I scared you. I swear, I didn't mean it." I raised my right arm as if making a promise.

She was in rage.

"Arrgghhh You're crazy! You'll pay for this!" she said while fixing herself

"Wow!" I clapped my hands

"You really had the audacity to threaten me." I let out a mocking laugh.

"Who the hell you think you are? You're just a rich famewhore b***h who wants the world to adore her." she looked at me with disgust.

This b***h is really testing my patience.

"And you? A social climber, gold digger fashion freak who sells her body just to get what she want." I teasingly uttered

It looks like I just triggered a bomb. Her face turned red with anger.

I slowly fished the pepper spray from my tote bag and abruptly sprayed it into her eyes.

She dropped her things and screamed loudly while rubbing her eyes.

I picked up her phone and walked back to my car and drove away.

That b***h deserves it.
