One Queen, Two Alphas

Something felt different. The surface beneath me was much softer than what I was used to; the air smelled refreshing and new. I didn't want to open my eyes. Life had never been pleasant, and the only place I ever found peace was in the darkness behind my eyelids. "She’s awake," a voice whispered. Suddenly, I felt the heavy presence of people surrounding me. Panic flared. Would they kill me now? Was I in trouble for even looking at a wolf? Dark thoughts raced through my mind, born from a lifetime of being unwanted. "Isn’t she just beautiful? She looks so peaceful," another voice said. I felt a hand move over my face, the touch surprisingly doting. "Since she’s asleep, she probably won't mind me kissing her," the first voice—this one thicker, more resonant—murmured. "Besides, she’s our mate. I’m already so in love." I felt a thumb brush slowly, deliberately, across my lower lip. "Perverts," I croaked out before I could stop myself. "So, you are awake," they said in unison. I opened my eyes slowly. Right in front of me stood the two most handsome men I had ever seen. As I breathed in, the scent of them hit me like a physical wave: dark chocolate truffles dipped in spiced rum—a rich, boozy sweetness that pulled me in like a beautiful, late-night temptation. My gaze jumped between the two "snacks" in front of me. My body began to betray me, reacting in ways I didn't understand. One of them leaned down, inhaling the scent of my hair as he locked eyes with me. "Brother, it seems our mate can't wait to be with us. She smells so divine," he said ruggedly. He watched my mouth like a starving man who had finally found a feast. "Why do you keep calling me your mate?" I asked, my voice laced with annoyance and fear. I couldn't allow myself to be killed just because the Moon Goddess was bored and decided to use me for entertainment. It was laughable. If my own family, my town, and my previous intended mate couldn't accept me, why would these two? "You are ours," they both growled. The sound was possessive, vibrating in the air. I could see the internal battle in their eyes, their wolves pushing to the surface. "Water," I rasped. I needed to process this. The Moon Goddess hadn't been kind to me before; the idea that she’d given me two powerful, handsome Alpha mates to make up for my jackass of an ex-mate felt like a cruel joke. The twin without a shirt rushed to help, lifting me gently to feed me the water as if I were a delicate glass doll. I couldn't help but stare at the sculpted lines of his torso. “Mate! Mate! Mate!” Veronica, my wolf, finally shrieked in my head, choosing that exact moment to claim them both. "Please... don't kill me," I whispered, the words slipping out. The fear of death had been my constant companion since the "incidents." "We will never harm you," they both said, their expressions shifting to pure sincerity and honesty. They each took one of my hands, kissing every single finger with lingering devotion. "So, you won't hurt me?" I asked, my voice trembling. "Then what are you planning? Do you want to sell me off? Reject me? Just... do it quickly. That's the best thing you could do for me." Tears finally spilled over, hot and bitter. "No!" they both growled, the sound echoing in the room. "We love you. We are going to claim you because you are our mate, our Luna, and the love of our lives," the twin in the blue shirt said. Before I could respond, he leaned in and kissed me. At first, the kiss was gentle, an attempt to soothe my terror. He didn't force his way in; he waited. When I finally surrendered, giving him access, the kiss turned wild. It was rough, possessive, and breathless. It tasted like relief. The kiss deepened, a chaotic collision of tongue and teeth that made me forget the IV lines in my arm and the bruises on my skin. It was the kind of kiss that sought to tether two souls together before the world could pull them apart again. Only a few feet away, my other mate stood rooted to the spot. He didn't turn away. Instead, he watched with an intensity that matched the heat of the kiss—a heavy, silent witness to the bond. His presence didn't dampen the fire; it acted as an anchor, a quiet acknowledgment of the shared claim they both held on me. "You owe me one," the shirtless twin said when we finally broke apart. I blushed so hard I had to cover my face with my palms. Finally, my story was changing. I knew then I would love them both with everything I had, because they accepted me for exactly who I was. Then, a realization hit me. I didn't even know who they were. "What are your names?" I asked into my palms, still too shy to meet their eyes. The shirtless one giggled. The sound was so beautiful I had to look. His eyes sparkled with a heat that went straight to my core. I reached out, unable to stop myself from touching him. "You're too good to be true," I whispered, leaning in to kiss him. But he didn't kiss me back. He pulled away slightly, and the rejection stung instantly. I turned my face away in anger, but he caught my chin and pulled me back. "I want nothing more than to shove my tongue down your throat, believe me," he said, his voice dropping an octave. "But you aren't well yet, and I’m not a monster." He pecked my lips softly, igniting a slow-burn heat in my belly. I had never felt like this. I couldn't understand why I was already craving them so much. "I’m Drake," my shirtless mate said with a sinful smile. "And I’m his twin, Dracon," my other mate added, still watching me like I was a prize he was ready to devour. I blushed again, my mind filled with corrupt thoughts involving the three of us. "I'm Queen," I said softly, leaning my head back against the pillow. "Let’s get you home, Queen," Drake said. He called for the doctor, a woman who proved to be as kind and thoughtful as my mates. Being treated with such kindness was new to me. It was something I knew would take a long time to get used to, but for the first time in my life, I wanted to try.
