Kelvin’s POV I stood at the balcony of the Alpha’s bedroom, staring out at a sky that looked bruised and haunted. The air didn’t smell like the forest anymore; it smelled like copper and wet ash. Below, the Uvia pack lands—once a symbol of my strength—were a graveyard. I looked back over my shoulder and saw Samantha. She was lying on the bed, her chest rising and falling in a rhythmic snore as if the world wasn't ending. It was maddening.
