CHAPTER 12: Be My Girlfriend

Avery's POV

I was quite sad because Alexa didn't know our label. She really needs to learn about relationships. I think I should buy her some books, magazines, journals, or even movie cds so she can learn.

"Ms. Halston" Madie snapped me in my thoughts.

"Yes?"

"You are spacing out and you are holding the file upside down."

"Thank you Madie"

"You are welcome, Ms. Halston. It's not that I want to intrude, but I think you have a problem right now. "

"How did you know?"

"It is pretty obvious, Ms. Halston,"

"Really?"

"Yes, but you can tell me and I might be able to help you."

"No, it is fine."

"I want to ask you something."

"Sure ask me"

"What if your partner doesn't know your label?"

"You mean that Ms. Smith doesnt know what your relationship really is?" Wow, she is pretty smart. I nodded

"Yes"

"It was pretty hard actually, but did you love each other?"

I love her, but she doesn't love me yet.

"I guess?"

"Are you asking me a question?"

"Nope"

"You should talk about your relationship with Ms. Halston. Talk about it properly. You should ask her if what relationship you guys want to have." I probably need to talk to my Allie.

"Okay, thanks Madie. You can go now," She bowed.

"You're welcome, Ms. Halston," She said as she walked out of the office.

I keep thinking about how I am going to talk with Allie. She might probably ask too many questions if we talk about this matter. It is pretty hard to fall in love with a person who doesn't have any clue what love is.

I stop thinking about my thoughts and I continue working. The Music Festival is coming, and it will be busier than usual. Suddenly, someone knocked on the door and opened it. It is Allie and she is catching her breath.

"Allie, what happened?" I walked towards her and she sat on the couch.

"I-I-" She can't speak properly and she is now sweating. I wiped her sweat with my hand.

"Breathe first, Allie". Her breathing is now normal. "So, why are you here? What happened? Did you run here?"

"Yeah I ran here. There's nothing happening."

"Then why are you here and why did you run?"

"I want to ask you quickly"

"What is it?"

"Can I have a date with you?"

Did she just ask me to date her? For real? Where the hell did she know that?

"Date?" She nodded and smiled. She even held my hands.

"Date, just the two of us as two people who have a romantic interest in each other."

Okay, I think she's learning now. But where did she learn it?

"Okay!" I said excitedly.

"Really?!?" She raised her voice.

"Yes, Allie. Let's go now!" I grab her so she can stand up.

"But wait, how about your work?"

"Our date is much more important than work," She blushed, and I kissed her on both cheeks.

"Okay? Let's go!" She interwined our hands and we walked outside the building. We are now outside the building. "I forgot I don't have a car." She shyly scratched her right ear.

"Don't worry, we can ask Bobby to drive us."

"No!" She exclaimed, "I'm sorry hehe"

"You dont want Bobby to drive us?"

"It's our date, which means it should only be the two of us. I do want a chaperone or anyone that will follow us. "Please can we not bring anyone?" She asked me and she is literally cute right now.

"Of course, if that is what my Allie wants." I hugged her and kissed her cheeks. "Let's go!"

"Where?"

"To the parking lot, where my car park is"

"Oh! So you have a car? "

"Yes, I have not only a car because I have cars." She nodded and we walked to the parking lot, where I saw my car.

"Oh so you have BMW." Allie touched my car.

"Yes, do you like it?"

"Yeah its a nice car actually. Just like I expected, the color of your car will be black. Your top is also black."

"You don't like black or dark colors?"

"Nope, I like them, but I haven't seen you wearing light-colored clothes."

"You want to see me wearing that?"

"Yeah, I think you will be more pretty." She smiled at me sweetly and said, "Avie, I still have one more thing I need to say."

"Okay, tell me."

"I can't drive" She shyly scratched her right ear. I cupped her cheeks.

"It's fine, I can drive, and you are so cute right now." I kissed her cheeks. "Now, get in"

She sat in the passenger seat and buckled her seatbelt. I'll be the one who is driving and while driving my other hand is holding her hand. She actually put the address in the GPS and now she is just looking out the window.

We have arrived at the location. It's an orphanage. What are we going to do here? Are we going to adopt a child? Don't assume Avery wait for Alexa's explanation.

"Let's go, Avie." She unbuckled her seatbelt and got down. She opened the door for me. She is really learning new things.

"Why are we here?"

"I want to share something to you."

"A what?"

"I want to share my childhood with you."

"So, you mean this is where you grew up?"

"Yes, Avie. I want to share my childhood stories with you. It may sound boring, but I want you to get to know me better instead of asking someone to stalk me. "

"It is not boring, Allie. I love to learn more things about you and I love you." She held my hands and smiled.

"So, let's go inside"

We went inside the orphanage. I saw a lot of kids running around. Allie brought me to the bench under the tree. We sat down there and it felt cozy.

"This bench is my favorite spot. This is where I got to meet Blair unnie and this is where Grandma saw me. It is cozy, isnt it? "

"Yes it is. So this is where you are always at?"

It is kind of entertaining "Yes, I love to seat here because I can see the kids who are playing and I like watching them. I also saw the people who were coming here to visit or to adopt a child here, and I saw how they smiled while watching them. "

"Before Grandma adopted you, were there other parents who wanted to adopt you?" She shook her head.

"Really? Do you know why?"

"I'm always here I'm not that active like the other kids. For them, Im a loner or a kid who wants to be alone. If you also see me here, you will probably find another kid to adopt. "

"Are you lonely here?"

"Nope, I'm not. Actually, I'm very happy watching them playing and having a new family."

Why didn't she say my name? Did she find the love she wanted from me? For real?

"How about me?" I pouted and she pinched my cheeks.

"Your love for me is different."

"What do you mean?" I frowned.

"The love from them is family love, but your love for me is romantic. So, Avery Jane Halston will you be my girlfriend?."

Fuck! Did she just say that?

"I know Avie, I am not good at relationships, I don't know much about love, but I can learn. I do want to ask you to be my girlfriend. I'm demanding you to be my girlfriend, so you have assurance that I am already yours. Therefore, be my girlfriend Avie." I tear up I can't believe she wants me to be her girlfriend. I'm crying now.

"Oh Jesus!! Why are you crying, Avie? Did I said something wrong? Did I ask in the wrong place? Tell me Avie, why? " She panicked, and she wiped my tears.

"Don't cry Avie, don't cry. Im sorry if I did something wrong." She hugged me and rubbed my back. Two minutes later, I stopped crying and I pulled away.

"Did I do something wrong?" Allie asked worriedly, and she wiped my face with her hand.

"Nope, you just made me happy"

"Huh?" She is still innocent.

"You made me happy because you asked me to be your girlfriend." She heaved a sigh.

"So you are my girlfriend now and I am your girlfriend now."

"Yes, Allie, we are now girlfriends," I kissed her on both cheeks, and she covered her face with her two hands because she was blushing. "Allie, I love you so much." I whispered to her, and her ears are also red now.

"Avie, I told you not to make me blush," She whined, and I just laughed at her.

"What? I didn't do anything, Allie. " I said innocently and she looked at me.

"Let's go now, girlfriend. We still have a long day to spend."

Wow, she just referred to me as her girlfriend.

"Yes, let's go now my girlfriend."

We rode the car again, and she just put the address again in the GPS. She caresses my hand using her thumb and hums. I think it is a song. We arrive at the Han River. We were here together once with Chelsea.

I don't know what we are going to do here.

We got out of the car and Allie pulled me to the stairs. She patted the one step on the stairs to clean it, and she pulled me to sit beside her.

"What are we going to do here?" I asked her

"We will be watching the waterscape." Suddenly, the bridge released water.

"It is satisfying, isn't it?" Allie asked me and she took a photo of it using her phone.

"Yes it is"

"Avie, I need to get something but I'm afraid to leave you here alone." She looked at me worriedly.

"We can go together."

"Nah, you are already tired of driving. Can I leave you here for about a minute? "

"Sure Allie, don't worry, I'll be fine. I know some martial arts, " I assured her, and she nodded.

"Okay, I'll be fast here." She hugged me first and she ran.

While waiting for her, I'm just watching the waterscape. To be honest, I'm not a fan of watching these, but because of Alexa, I've changed my point of view about that. I learned that a simple life is beautiful. Suddenly, Alexa sat beside me and I looked at her.

"Hi! Did you wait a long time? "

"Nope, I'm not. So what did you get?"

"Here," She said, presenting me with a bouquet of paper roses and a small box.

"Thank you Allie! Can I open this box now?" She nodded and I opened it to find a butterfly necklace.

"Did you like it?" She is anticipating my answer.

"I love it, Allie," I whispered to her left ear.

"It is not an expensive necklace, Avie, but there is a story behind it."

"It is fine. I don't care if it is expensive or not. Can you tell me that story?" She nodded and she gave it to me.

"I was riding my bike around the area and I saw a vintage shop. This necklace caught my attention and I bought it. Kiara was supposed to buy it, but I saw and touched it first. She asked if I was going to buy it, and I said yes, and she let me because she said that she could find another necklace. That's how me and Kiara became friends. I bought it before your parents talked to me. I bought it because I thought that someday I was going to give it to the one special person in my life. Therefore, I gave it to you because you are now special in my life. "

"Should I thank Kiara because she let you buy it and she didn't argue with you anymore?" I joked and she laughed.

"Way to ruin the moment, Avie. I'm trying to be romantic here."

"Oh! Blair unnie taught me about relationship labels and she told me to ask you to be my girlfriend so you have assurance. Then I search on Naver, Google, and any search website for how to be romantic, but all the answers are lame, so I just get some ideas there on the internet. "

"Should I also thank Chelsea unnie?" I teased

"Yah! But yeah, I think you should thank them," She smiled.

"How did you make these paper roses? Google? Naver?"

"Grandma taught me how to make those because she said that it would be useful someday."

"Ohh, but why paper roses instead of real ones?"

"The real one can die if you don't take care of it properly. Also, I want to be a little bit unique because I know you have already accepted some bouquets of flowers from your suitors or from anyone. We drove back to the Mansion. Allie told me that she needed to go home because she still had school work to finish, and I told Bobby to drive Allie back home. I walked inside the mansion, smiling, holding the paper flowers. I smelled it and it has a nice scent. It looks like Allie sprayed her perfume here because it smells like her. I can't believe that Allie is now my girlfriend.
