Episode 2: The Promise

It was the evening of the same day. Daichi was standing on the bridge, looking at the river, which was black, with stars and moon seeming to be floating in the river. The reflection of Daichi wasn't clear. Daichi was deeply thinking about something. A hand is calmly kept on Daichi's back. It was the hand of a 15 aged girl. Daichi says, "Hey, Sumire, when did you come here?" Sumire says, "I knew you would be here, Daichi." Pause...
Sumire glances at Daichi's eyes with a glimpse of tension and care towards Daichi, and then with an aggressive voice, she says, "Tell me, why did you enter the world of bloodshed! What would happen if you....lose your life, you i***t! Don't you care about your sister who's suffering from illness!? What will happen to her without you, have you ever imagined! Don't you care about me?" After saying the last line, she thinks that she had told something which was not ought to be told. She feels embarrassed and blushes. But she doesn't run away. She says, "Tell me, why did you enter the underworld?"
Daichi says, "To earn the money for the treatment of my sister. I don't want to about this further." Sumire understands, that Daichi is lying, but she goes back to her home. Daichi goes to his home and starts sleeping with eyes open. Tears were falling from his eyes.
Flashback...
"Daichi, promise me. You will always take care of your sister. You will always take care of Shizu..."
Daichi was 5 years old at that time.
"I promise, mother..."
Daichi's eyes were bursting out of tears, seeing his mom dieing in the deathbed.
His mom says, "Be strong, son... Don't weep... Promise me, you will become strong enough to protect your sister."
"I take oath to protect my sister till my last breath."
Present time...
Daichi stops laying on his bed and wakes up. It was 10 pm. Daichi forgot that he has to feed Shizu. He rushes towards the nearby shop and buys bread and milk. Daichi comes back and says sorry to Shizu. After feeding Shizu, they go to sleep.
